Work to Weekend Clothing September 26, 2018 | If there’s anything that I know about you gals by now it’s that you are BUSY—busy working, building families, building careers and building homes and you really need the pieces of clothes that I suggest to function overtime in your closet. Today I’m partnering with Macy’s to bring you a true work to weekend clothing look that can transition from one facet of life to the other simply by switching out the bottom you’re wearing. So that means the top, earrings, and shoes are all able to work double duty in your Fall lineup—and that’s a real win! Not to mention, everything is on sale during Macy’s Fall Fashion Event which runs through the 30th! Work to Weekend Clothing: This girly top was definitely the starting point. I love the feminine ruffles and bow and the lightweight chiffon makes it great for year around wear! It can easily be layered up for the office or jazzed up for the weekend. I get countless compliments on it each time I wear it, simply because it’s an updated classic that nearly all women are drawn to and can see themselves wearing. THIS BRAND has a TON of great work to weekend tops, here are a few more favorites: Ruffle + Bow Top | Slim Cut Blazer | Black Pencil Skirt | Mixed Media Heels | Earrings I love a clean pencil skirt for the office and THIS ONE is a great scuba material (aka it nips, tucks and smooths everything into place)! Not to mention, it’s well under $30 and comes in a rainbow of colors. I just discovered THIS BRAND at Macy’s and I am loving all of the transitional and affordable pieces they have! So, there you have it…a clean, crisp office look that’s classic but still flattering. It can also easily be layered on top of as the weather cools. Throw a cardigan, blazer or V neck sweater on and you’re ready for late Fall weather. Now let’s talk weekend! I took the same TOP, EARRINGS, SHOES and BLAZER and instead of the pencil skirt I paired them with an under $50 pair of black skinny jeans for an understated chic weekend look! What a fun Happy Hour or Date night look! I layered the slim cut blazer over it for cooler weather and then could easily take it off once inside to show to details of the top. It’s easy and fuss free but still full of fun details! Last but not least, we’ve got to talk about the shoes! They are a GO-TO heel that’s classic but still on trend in the details. The t-strap and clear insets make the legs look SO long and they are overall a flattering heel and actually easy to wear. Not to mention, the price is AMAZING! Don’t worry, I lay on random sidewalk benches to get “THE” shoe shot…here’s a funny outtake 😉 I hope that this Work to Weekend Clothing post was helpful and gave you some affordable ideas from Macy’s for pieces that can really pull overtime in your closet, adding in functionality AND style! Don’t forget to take advantage of their Fall Fashion Sale where nearly everything is 20% off through September 30th! *Thank you to Macy’s + ShopStyle for sponsoring this post, please know that all opinions, photos, etc are my own and I truly appreciate you supporting brands who in turn support Style Your Senses. Catherine says September 26, 2018 at 9:43 PM Nurse practitioner, so I want to be cute and fashionable, but also appreciate washable items (I come into contact with some gross stuff!) and comfortable shoes are a MUST. I am on my feet 14-15hrs a day, and struggle to find footwear that doesn’t leave me covered in blisters and with aching legs and back. On my hospital days I simply wear scrubs and either tennies or Dansko, but those aren’t suitable for my office days when I want to be stylish and functional! Bonus points for nursing friendly wear. Appreciate all the work you do for us!
Tricia says September 27, 2018 at 11:29 AM I would absolutely love to see more Work Wear posts! I’m a software consultant and travel every 2 weeks. Items that are easy to pack, look put together but also comfortable enough to wear on a plane can be tough. I will say that the Gibson brand from Nordstrom has been a saving grace. Super cute, affordable and uber comfy. Thanks for all of these posts.
[…] wore these same jeans in my last collaborative post with Macy’s (see it HERE) and really do wear them weekly. They are an amazing price + fit and I absolutely encourage you to […]
