Splurge or Save | May Edition May 3, 2016 | Today I’m mixing things up a little and writing a long overdue “Splurge or Save” post! You guys know that I’m a firm believer in that style doesn’t have to cost a fortune. I believe that there are places to splurge, but most of the time, I’m going to opt for the less expensive piece, as long as it’s made well. In this post, I’m highlighting some trends I’m loving and giving you a splurge worthy option as well as a wayy less expensive option to shop. My plan is to make this a monthly post and publish it on the first Tuesday of each month…whohoo! I have to admit, I had a ton of fun putting this one together and I hope that you enjoy it too…there are some major trend-right deals here, ladies! JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. This new Chloe tassel saddle bag comes in at over $2,000 (eeek), but I found a gorgeous dupe that’s such a beautiful shade of blue for only $85! Bold Lips Now that the warmer temps are here to stay, it’s time to put on that bright pink lipstick with confidence. My favorite shade is the splurge option (Nars: Greta), but I might have to try out this Mac (Be Silly) pink for only $17! Lace up Gladiators Ohhh man these Stuart Weitzman suede lace up flats are dreamy to say the least. While I’m tempted to splurge on them, the Sole Society flats are just as great (and nearly identical) for only $75. These are a must have to add to your closet if you don’t already have a good lace up option. Mirrored Sunnies I’m loving everything Illesteva does and actually prefer the thin arms of the splurge option, but since I sit on, drop, scratch, throw, etc my sunglasses on a daily basis I’m opting for the $50 QU/AY tortoise shell option. Have you guys tried QU/AY sunnies? If not, I think that you will be REALLY impressed for the price. The full assortment is HERE. Pink Crossbody Rebecca Minkoff can do no wrong in my book and this updated shade of pink for Summer is definitely proof of that. I love the hue that’s somewhere between a rose and a watermelon and oh so fun for Summer. Her bags are always worth the splurge to me, but if you’re still unsure of how you’ll wear a pink crossbody (trust me it works as a neutral), opt for this blush studded crossbody that comes in at under $40. Mirrored Sandals I’m all about mirrored things, obviously. I’ve been eyeing this Tory Burch pair for a few months now, but definitely won’t commit to the price…I did however commit to the “save” option and just got them in over the weekend. I’m obsessed to say the least and at $59 I won’t care if I only wear them one season! Gold Statement Collar Necklace Two options that I really really love. The Kendra Scott splurge option is so beautiful and well made and the stones are really iridescent shells…it would be so stunning for a tropical vacation. I bought the “save” option here and really like it as well. It goes great with a tan and really gives any outfit that extra “boost.” White Off the Shoulder Top This is an absolute necessity in your closet this season and while both of these are amazing options…I cannot be trusted with an expensive white shirt. Like a toddler, I will have it covered in guacumole within two minute. Needless to say, I’m opting for the “save” option here as well…hurry on this one, sizes are going fast!
