The Friday Edit + Real Talk September 9, 2016 | Hi Friends! How was your week?? These last few weeks have been a total blur for me but lots of exciting things happening! My parents were in town last weekend and we took them on a quick trip to Asheville (so fun!) and my sweet pea started school on Tuesday! That means that I have had all week to plan and write and actually focus on the blog and I cannot tell you how great it felt… That being said, I wanted to take a second to tell you guys how much I appreciate you. I appreciate you coming here everyday and supporting this daydream of mine. This Summer was probably one of the biggest challenges for me with the blog and I’m just so thankful that I made it out on the other side. See, I like to still consider myself a stay at home mom. On the other side of the coin, the blog requires 40+ hours of my time a week and fulfills me creatively like nothing I’ve ever dreamed. It’s a blessing bigger than I could have ever imagined to get to talk about what I’m passionate about and help women find clothes that they feel confident in. Even though I’ve been blogging basically full time for well over a year now, I’ve still struggled to give up that “stay at home mom” title. Always feeling the tug at my heartstrings when I hired a babysitter to come stay with Landry while I worked or when I considered sending her to school 4 days a week instead of 3. I’ve cried about it more times than I can count and (until now) I’ve refused to give it up. Instead, I would wake up at 4:30-5am to work and then stay up until past midnight finishing things and all day my mind was spinning through to-do lists and my neglected inbox. This Summer was a turning point for me. I was exhausted beyond my limits and realized that it was time to rip the bandaid and shift just a bit more of my focus towards the blog. I know that I can’t have the very BEST of both worlds…I will have to give up some precious time with my sweet girl to help fuel the business that I am passionate about, BUT what I will gain is a clear mind and be able to focus when I AM with her. Why is that so hard to even type? Mom guilt is so so real, y’all. All of that being said, I wanted to give you a big virtual hug. A hug for supporting me all of these years and helping me to understand what it was like to truly and whole-heartedly love your job. I will have quite a bit more time to focus on the blog in the coming seasons and I really want to hear from you. I see you guys coming and going, but am really asking for more of your input. More feedback (negative or positive) and more of what you’d like to see. Please reach out via the comment section (I try to reply to every single one) or via email. Thank you, again. I love you guys in a big big way. Whew, that was a heavy start to The Friday Edit, right?! Sorry about that! I die over it! It’s also only $66 and SO cute with booties or OTK booties! Shop it HERE. Okay, I have a real question for you guys…I’m dying for an olive bag this Fall! Problem is that I’ve fallen completely in love with two of them and I need you guys to be the tie breakers. They are both amazing in their own rights. Option 1 I already own in the blush color and it’s hands down the best bag I’ve ever purchased, so I would buy a second color without hesitation. Option 2 is crossbody only and a little smaller but I LOVE the details. The strap is also interchangable! Okay, vote now!! Option 1 | Option 2 Okay, I’m not planning to do a full Fall home tour this year. I just can’t get into it, which is really sad. BUT this image is giving me life to spruce up our front porch. Maybe I should keep my focus there and go all out. Isn’t this beautiful?? via Juuuust in case you are wondering these are nearly the EXACT same boots as the $795 Stuart Weitzman version. Just a friendly FYI before you go and spend that kind of cash 😉 Shop the boots HERE. Oh my good gracious! Have you guys seen this gorgeous canopy bed from PB Teen??
