The Friday Edit March 25, 2016 | Hi Friends! TGIF over here! While it’s been a super fun week on the blog, I have to be honest…this week has kicked my behind. In utter defeat yesterday I finally text the hubs and admitted that this had been one of my hardest parenting weeks to date. I know some of you are rolling your eyes, thinking that I only have one child how could it possibly be that hard, right? This week LK has officially decided that she’s dropping her 3 hour daily naps, which is normally when I work. To top it off, our child who soundly put herself to sleep every night, is now getting up out of bed the minute we walk out of the door (after a lengthy bedtime routine, not to mention). All of this on top of the fact that she’s now decided she’s got the attitude of a 16 year old diva. We are talking full on melt downs and perfectly timed when I am 100% the most vulnerable…the grocery store, Lowes, Chickfila, you name it…she’s throwing a fit. She’s also so articulate with her thoughts and what she wants that I can’t pull the wool over her eyes anymore…she calls BS right away. I know that we will find our groove again, but man this week was an absolute doozy. Any advice on this whole transitioning to no naps situation? How do you keep them occupied all day? Quiet time? What’s your limit on TV? Seriously, I’d love to hear your thoughts! I hope it’s okay to share a bit of the “not so pretty” with you guys sometimes. Top Post: The shared Office + Playroom Reveal was certainly the top post this week, and one of the top posts of all time for that matter. Thank you so much for the love and for pinning it and sharing it with your friends. I hope that it inspired you to get to thinking how you can make unused space in your home function better for the needs of your family. I always love meeting new people who stop by from blog hops and I love reading through blog hops because I always find new bloggers to follow! This week’s tour list was jam packed with gorgeous Spring tours and wonderful ideas on how to brighten your home for Spring. I also shared this super fun and flattering Spring Dress that you guys really seemed to like as much as I do! It really is a dress for so many body types and the back detailing is darling and so unexpected. Definitely a dress to consider if you have something fun coming up soon! This printed weekender was definitely the most clicked on and this leather one was close behind. Both are super reasonably priced and so adorable! Here’s another look at my top accessories for Spring on a budget. I think that the floral all the way to the left ended up winning everyone’s hearts! I linked them all below: Turn on your JavaScript to view content You also liked this causal top that I urged you to buy! It’s a light and airy linen blend and is such an amazing top to throw on and go…especially at the price! Turn on your JavaScript to view content Link Love: Bought this matching culottes set (pants + top) for Landry and it came in this week. Unreal cute! Also bought this culottes romper in both colors, because honestly what’s cuter than a baby in culottes?! I literally bought her entire Spring wardrobe in one shot because I got everything for under $150. Thank goodness for Old Navy. Here are a few other things I scored… Turn on your JavaScript to view content My friend Kris shared her beautiful Spring Home Tour as part of Marty’s series and I always love peeks into her house. Her office is one of my all time favorites, but this time I was swooning over the littler details. She used thrifted trophy cups to display fresh flowers and it reminded me that I have been on the hunt for some for so long now and keep coming up empty. Krista Ewarts home tour in House Beautiful is one of my favorite tours of all times, and every time I see this image it makes me want to put two twin beds in Landry’s room…for no other reason that aesthetics, of course 😉 I’ve got organization on my mind…I think part of it is Spring Cleaning related and the other part is that Im actually “adulting” lately and thinking about these things. Next up is our pantry and it’s going to be quite the challenge. I need to use the vertical door space and free up shelf room for things like small appliances that are crowding up the tiny counter space that I have. Have any of your organized a teeny tiny closet pantry before? Help! Here’s a inspo image (this is the EXACT size of our pantry) from Four Generations One Roof: Sales and Steals: These darling sandals are currently 25% off in 3 colors! A great show that can be dressed up or down for Spring and Summer and well worth the $60 price tag! I posted this Instagram yesterday and I wanted to tell you guys a little more about these running shoes. I’ve been getting major shin splints as I started running again and I’ve been on the hunt for a more supportive shoe. I accidentally found these and they couldn’t be more perfect. An AMAZING shoe if you need support in all of the right places. They are regular $170 and I got mine for $89! Luckily, they have them online for the same price (in 3 colors!). I always go up .5 size in running shoes. Turn on your JavaScript to view content Y’all all know that Target is sending me straight to the poor house, but honestly I need this outdoor serving cart. I love that it’s made of materials that can withstand the weather and the lines are clean and cute…and it’s under $100! I hope that you guys have a blessed Easter and enjoy some time with your friends and family. I’m taking Monday off, so I will be back behind the computer on Tuesday! Keep up on Instagram and Snapchat (@styleyoursenses)! xo …He has shown to be the Son of God when he was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit. He is Jesus Christ our Lord. Through Christ, God has given us the privilege and authority as apostles to tell the Gentiles everywhere what God has done for them, so that they will believe and obey him, bringing glory to His name… Romans 1:4-5

Kelsey M. says April 1, 2016 at 4:13 PM So I’m just pregnant with our first, so have I have no personal experience (from the mother’s perspective) but when I was little and over naptime, this is what worked for my mom. I was 4 when my brother was born and my mom needed that time in the afternoons so she let me lay on her bed (which I never got to do) and would put on one of my favorite shows. She swears by this and says that 9/10 I would end up falling asleep. It wasn’t “naptime,” it was my special “quiet time.” I think I still did that the next year when I would come home from kindergarten too.
Style Your Senses says April 5, 2016 at 4:14 PM Kelsey- such great advice! Thankfully she’s starting to get back into her normal routine! I think that she noticed that having a crazy mama wasn’t worth it LOL…cheers to your new bundle! xo
