The Cordless Dyson | A Review + How to Score One on Sale! July 25, 2018 | I have to tell you guys…I’m in a committed relationship…with my vacuum. It’s my absolute favorite household gadget and Dan swears one day the Dyson and I will run off into the sunset together. There was a distinct turning point in my life and that was 3 years ago when this vacuum was the only thing on my Christmas list. I’d heard friends RAVE about it and I had a toddler Landry at the time and was desperate for an every day cleaning solution. Dan looked at me like I was CRAZY….you want a WHAT?! Who are you? But I stuck to my list and made sure that I was very specific about the brand and model and waited patiently to see if he delivered. Thankfully he did and we both still consider the cordless Dyson going down as the best, most used Christmas gift to date! Q: Why do I love the cordless Dyson so much? A: Because it’s lightweight, cord free, does an AMAZING job of actually cleaning, and cuts my cleaning time down tremendously. Like I mentioned, it really does offer a practical everyday cleaning solution for busy families. Dan typically gives the girls a bath after dinner and during that time I tidy the kitchen and run the Dyson around the downstairs. I’m always blown away (and equally disgusted) at what it picks up on a DAILY basis. I convinced my mom to get a Dyson last year for Christmas (she got THIS one) and she’s still raving about it too. She even said that her housecleaner is floored by how well it cleans. Q: Can it be used on all surfaces, including carpet? A: 100% YES! It works great on wood + tile, but I’m actually most impressed on carpet. The direct drive cleaner head gets bristles deep into the carpet and does a great job of lifting ground in dirt. You will be SHOCKED at what this little thing gets out of your carpets, even if you vacuum often! Q: Since it runs on a battery, how long can you actually clean for? A: It kind of depends! On a normal night, I’m using it in max power mode (no time to play) and can get 10 full minutes of power out of it (mind you, mine is 3 years old with the original battery, so that’s amazing IMO). I actually like that there’s sort of a “time limit” on my nightly cleaning because I know the spaces that I can cover in the time that I need to cover them and it doesn’t let me get carried away Q: What else do you like about it? A: A LOT! The roller brush and stick easily detach so that it becomes a true hand held vacuum allowing me to use it to clean stairs, my car, and quick messes. There’s also an option to just detach the brush and put on a smaller stationary brush to clean things like ceilings, blinds, windows…you know all the things that I never clean. One of the things that I can say I like MOST though is the ease of cleaning the vacuum itself. With one click, the canister easily pops open and empties right into the garbage can. I am easily skeeved by cleaning vacuums (eeew), but I don’t even think about it with this one. There’s absolutely no mess and the vacuum stays completely clean after each use. I also really enjoy that it’s husband friendly. He’s WAY more likely to go and grab the Dyson to quickly help me clean than anything else. It’s fuss free and easy to use and we both appreciate that. Q: Is it worth the price A: Hands down, yes. If I had know just HOW much I liked it I would probably have paid double for it. I even went to The Container Store to buy an Elfa wall basket system to keep all of the vac parts easily accessible. It is seriously fun to use!! I want one on every floor of my home. I will have to check out eBay!
