Local Business That I Love: Morrison Smith Jewelers December 3, 2015 | I’m so excited to share one of my favorite local retailers with you today! Morrison Smith Jewelers is a local, family owned, full-service jeweler with more eye candy in one space than should be allowed. Don’t stop reading if you’re not here in Charlotte, they have an awesome online portal, too! I went in a few weeks back and picked out lots of my favorite gifts and borrowed them for a fun shoot showing you guys how to really look for versatile pieces of jewelry that you can dress up or down and really get lots of wear out of. The good news is that most of these pieces are reasonably affordable gifts (some even under $100!)…with some glam splurges in there too….ahem, those diamond earring knockouts. For the more casual look (think Holiday brunch or with red flats for Christmas shopping) I chose some layering pieces that are classic and beautiful. These stackable bracelets are so stunning! Delicate and beautiful, but really intricate and a little non-traditional…great pieces to collect each Holiday. Y’all. These rings. There was a rose gold, silver and yellow gold and they were beyond beautiful stacked up as a right hand ring. They have such a modern feel and are a great way to mix metals…pieces that I could definitely see myself wearing nearly everyday. I almost didn’t give these guys back! It’s certainly no secret that I adore all things monogrammed and this necklace is no exception. I love the size…big enough for a statement, but still something you can layer with other necklaces. I paired it with this dainty infinity necklace, which is also from Morrison Smith. Stackable Bracelets…really though, Santa, can I have them all please??? #nicelist, promise! Another great monogrammed gift is this silver dome ring. I wore mine as a pinky ring for the casual look, and it was a little unexpected. Remember this dress? It’s a total steal at under $100 and I gave it some high end glam with stunning pieces from Morrison Smith. So many things about this photo….first that gold necklace has multiple diamond pave discs strung along its diameter and it’s absolutely stunning. Next, the smaller dainty silver strand has diamonds placed every inch or two and it’s a total custom piece. As I was admiring it in the showroom, they told me how awesome these custom necklaces are to re-use diamonds from an old heirloom piece you might have and make them in to something unique and wearable. Another piece that I loved (not shown) are diamond halos to enhance your current diamond (or any stone really) stud earrings. They have an entire case full of different sizes and they are just diamond halos that sit around your current studs to give them more interest and make them look twice their size. A great option if you want to upsize but don’t really want to make the investment just yet. I also tried them on over ruby studs and wow, they looked like a custom piece. Seriously on these rings?! Santa!! These stackable bracelets are also so much fun. A GREAT price point and an awesome gift for such a wide variety of ages. IMAGES BY: LAURA SUMRAK Merry Christmas, friends!
