5 Ways to Wear a Blanket Scarf November 23, 2015 | Today I’m sharing a blanket scarf tutorial for dummies. Not but really, blanket scarves can be confusing right? Is it a blanket or is it a scarf? Or both? Really why are they so big and how do you legitimately wear them without feeling swallowed? I’m breaking it all down today and showing you 5 easy ways to translate this super hot trend. Warning, there are lots of photos here, but only for the sake of explanation. Also, I rounded up my favorite blanket scarves below…great for the colder temps and awesome as gifts! Oversized Bandana: -Fold scarf in half (width-wise), fold again into a triangle. Place center point at your center front and pull two points up and over your neck, crossing them in back and tucking ends under to secure. Belted Poncho: -Unfold completely, placing top center at the back over your neck and draping sides over your shoulders. Place belt over the entire thing and cinch at waist, pulling arms out slightly to allow movement. Functional Shawl: -Repeat above steps, but instead of belting, simply take each end and bring it around to your center back and knot. Perfect for staying warm even in a cute Holiday dress! One Shoulder: -Fold scarf in half (length wise) and drape around back of your neck. Take one end and cross it over your opposite shoulder and fluff the center to give it volume. Traditional Tie: -Fold scarf in half (length wise) and place the center at your front center. Take ends and pull up and cross over and the back of your neck, bringing them back around and then under the front loop. Fluff center for volume. My blanket scarf is from Nordstrom, but has since sold out. The *GOOD NEWS* is that THIS blanket scarf is only $39!!! I’m also linking to current favs below! Before showing them all, I felt like I should highlight this one, because it’s just about the most perfect gift ever. Leslie says November 24, 2015 at 10:35 AM LOVE this post! I feel like mine has been swallowing me! I wore it as a poncho last weekend and it was perfect – but I’ve been so nervous to actually wrap it as a scarf because I drown. This was very helpful.
