The Friday Edit

Hi Friends. How was your week? I’m writing from a very sobering Charlotte, NC and it’s truly hard to even gather my thoughts to write this Friday Edit. I love being a blogger and sharing my daily ramblings with you, but sometimes I feel like I have to always be so politically correct, hold my tongue and not really have an opinion on things, other than off the shoulder tops. This is one of the absolute hardest things about my job, because I am SO grateful for this country that we live in and the brave men and women who serve us daily. I, in no way, condone the violence that is happening in this city and think that acting in such a way only takes the focus away from the real issues at hand. I also value life…from conception to natural death…and understand that people are hurting and mourning, but violence like this is not the answer. Robbing stores, breaking glass, starting fires, and standing in the faces of our officers speaking obscenities is NOT the way to start change. It is NOT the way to exploit your voice or gain respect, in fact, it only widens the gap. I will stand behind our officers in Blue all of the way and trust that they will lawfully do their job to serve and protect the greater good. If, in any case, police officers do not perform their jobs as they should, I fully expect that they will be given a fair trial just like all other American citizens are entitled to.

I’m thinking abut sharing a full roundup of beauty products that I am loving right now, but this one product cannot wait…you must get this ASAP. I’ve always used L’Oreal Voluminous mascara…it’s hands down the best, even when compared to designer brands. When I saw that L’Oreal came out with a Voluminous Primer I was curious enough to try it. Okay, I am obsessed! It coats the lashes so well, lengthening them and when you put the mascara on over it you will notice SO much more volume and length. It’s seriously a little tiny miracle worker. Ellen not only cracks me up, but I truly believe that she has a heart of gold and I think that these are a happy reminder of that.
