Fall Finds | Denim Under $100! September 20, 2016 | I’m so excited to kick off my “Fall Finds” series today! I did the same sort of series for Spring and it was one of the most popular things on the blog (see below for a full schedule of what the series looks like). I thought that starting with Fall Finds Denim Under 100 would be best because personally that’s how I transition my wardrobe first and good denim is so dang hard to find! I will say that jeans have come a LONG way over the past few years and thankfully the “must wear designer jeans” trend thing is fading. There are tons of great affordable options out there now and I think that it’s all about knowing what silhouettes look best on you, what basics you need and what trend options you want to update your closet with for the new season. I’m answering some Instagram Q+A below and then chatting through ALL of the amazing options that I found for you guys, all at under $100! I asked everyone on Instagram if they had any questions regarding Fall Denim options and I thought there were some great ones… Q: Are skinny jeans still “in?” A: Yes! I think that the skinny silhouette is here to stay for the time being! They are really versatile and easy to dress up or down. I think that everyone should have an updated distressed pair for this Fall! Q: Skinny jeans make me feel not so skinny, any suggestions of tops that I can wear to make them more flattering? A: Yes! In fact, my absolute favorite top to wear with skinny jeans during the Fall is this roll tab tunic top that I have in 3 colors. It’s a great length and fully covers the thighs + booty, you can also front tuck it for a different look. I beg you…if you don’t already have this top, please buy it…you will thank me for it! Q: Any options other than denim for Fall?? A: Well, if you don’t already have a pair of these black leggings, I HIGHLY recommend them! Q: Boyfriend jeans only look good on really skinny girls…how can I still wear this trend? A: Girl, I feel ya! I stayed away from boyfriend jeans for so long, but ultimately the comfort factor won me over. Let’s be honest, skinny jeans are not always the most comfortable and boyfriend jeans are like a breath of fresh air. I say opt for more of a “girlfriend” fit, which is a more slim line and less baggy. I think that this silhouette is most flattering if you have legs that don’t resemble that of a toothpick. I talked all about tips for boyfriend jeans HERE and I even shared a girlfriend jean that I love just YESTERDAY. Q: How do I wear booties with jeans? Do I roll the hem? If so, how high? Does any of the jean cover the top of the bootie? A: This is a really good one! Personally, I think that the bootie should be the star, so I would work your jeans around them. If you have on a cute flat ankle bootie (like these for example), I would suggest pairing them with skinny jeans that you have cuffed at least once giving yourself about 1-2 inches between the bootie and the hem. Another great option is a pair of slightly cropped raw edge denim (like #6 below). If you are wearing more of a mid rise bootie (like these), I would saw either wear them with a pair of kick flares (like #7 below) OR a pair of skinny jeans that you have tucked IN to the bootie…I posted a similar look on Instagram HERE. Lastly, if your booties are a cute pointed toe (like these babes), wear them UNDER flares for the look of a true boot. Now, on to what I found for you guys for under $100! JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content. Turn on your JavaScript to view content Basics are what I would consider your go-to flattering jeans. For most women these days, it’s their favorite skinny jean, but if its a flare in your case then let’s throw them in this category. For me, my basics consist of a great dark wash skinny, a slimming black skinny and a distressed slim boyfriend. These are the jeans that are always on rotation and great for everyday wear or dressing up. Simply put, they are figure flattering and don’t require a lot of thought. One | $59.00 A great dark wash skinny is essential. Love the dark indigo wash of these with the ever so slight fading for shadows. Two | $79.00 Black skinny jeans are always a go-to for me. In fact, I wear them just as much (if not more) than my actual denim skinnies. I love how they pair with Fall colors and really make boots pop. Three | $58.00 These are the “girlfriend” (aka slimmer than boyfriend) jeans that I keep blabbing about. You need them. That’s all Trend Basics are jeans that have the shape and fit of the basics above but also have some trend details to keep your wardrobe current. Think distressing, light wash, raw hem, etc. Four | $99.00 These are more of a boyfriend fit with a much lighter wash (circa the 90’s) which is so big for Fall. Pair these with a simple white tee and a long cardigan for a laid back, cool look that’s uber comfy. Five | $88.00 These are just a great slim skinny jeans with slight distressing. Perfect for you ladies who don’t love overly distressed denim. Six | $58.00 These are a great dark wash skinny with the raw edge hem for major style points. You’ll see raw edge and loose hems continue to trend throughout all denim this Fall and these understated jeans are a great way to adopt the trend. Trend pieces are those that are emerging silhouettes or pieces that you might now wear EVERYday. They are great ways to update your closet for the upcoming season, based on which trends you love. Seven | $59.95 Kick Flares are coming on to the scene in a big way and are simply a bit of a crop jean with a flared leg that hits on your lower calf. They are a total 70’s throwback look and are great paired with mid rise booties, pointed toe flats or even a great platform heel. Although the shape looks a big different, they are flattering on so many body types and truly a great functional fashion piece. Eight | $69.50 These army green slim cargos are truly an all around great pant. The tie waist is flattering, but I love the trend of pairing more casual, menswear silhouettes like these with heels and a girly top. Nine | $69.50 Merlot sateen skinnies. Not only is this color the hottest for Fall, but I also love the play on texture of these skinnies. A slight sheen and they instantly take the style factor up a notch. Use the merlot as an updated neutral and you’ll be shocked at how much you’ll wear them. Ten | $68 If you need a pair of colored casual denim, opt for this really beautiful mossy green. Not only is this shade of green so great for Fall, but it also works as a neutral and pairs well with the blacks, browns and tans of Fall. Fall Finds Schedule: Tops Under $50 | 9/27 Shoes + Boots Under $200 | 10/4 Outerwear + Acessories | 10/11 Fall Handbags 10/18 I hope that you guys will join me for this series, and thank you again for the feedback!!!
