The (Saturday) Edit September 16, 2016 | Hi Friends! How was your week? Obviously I was running a little behind this week since the normal Friday Edit became a Saturday Edit…ha! With a two day trip up to NYC, one sleepless night with a stomach bug and a hubby traveling, I would say we really gave it our all this week. I also had lots of fun on the blog this week and really tried to switch up some content, to which you guys had a really positive reaction! In last week’s Friday Edit, I shared some of my mom heart and am so thankful for your support and I also included a Travel Guide and a post all about why I think that Self Confidence is so important, which really felt like it freshened up the blog. What did you think? Here’s what you loved the most: Top Post: Seaside Travel Guide I knew that people loved Seaside, but I had no idea HOW much you loved it or were interested in more of what it’s about. The Guide was a huge success and was also a big hit on Pinterest. It looks like you guys pinned it to your travel boards to remember for the next time you need a beach getaway. If you want to read ALL about our vacation, including how to get to Seaside, Florida, where to stay and where to eat…see the full post HERE. A very close second…literally only by a few hundred pageviews, was the Real Talk about why I think that Self Confidence in your 30’s is so important. It felt like such a touchy subject to tackle because so many women in their 30’s don’t have time to think about or deal with themselves, but i’m SO glad that I talked about it because I got SO much positive feedback. Texts, emails, comments…you guys liked the open door convo. Read all about it HERE. I also shared this Workwear to Sunday Best dress on Wednesday and you guys gave it a big thumbs up for the pattern, colors and fit! A few people asked about sizing and I think that it runs very TTS, I’m wearing a 4, which is typically what I wear in dresses that don’t hug the lower half. See the full post HERE. Turn on your JavaScript to view content Dress | Heels |Block Heel Option | Earrings | Sunnies | Bag | Nails Instagram: Okay, I would LOVE your feedback here. My Instagram account has been super slow (engagement wise) since the new new algorithm. I need to know what YOU want to see, what gets you to double tap and like a photo or are you guys just staying in Instagram stories? If Insta isn’t floating your boat anymore, I’m going to actually pull back a little…but overall, I want to hear it from you guys! Please leave a comment below. xo p.s. if some of your “favorite” bloggers still appear to get great engagement, read this post. Lots of shady things happening, so just beware… Top Post: White Tee | Distressed Boyfriend Jeans | Adidas Superstar Kicks | Blush Handbag I asked you guys for your opinions on a new Fall bag on Instagram and it was between these two. The votes were literally split right down the middle, which is killing me! I’m going to let it simmer for a week and then decide. I love both SO much! Left | Right Link Love: Shamelessly sharing one of my favorite Fall DIY’s that’s been on fire over on Pinterest. I made this Fall Wreath over two years ago and it’s still one of my most pinned projects. Read the full DIY HERE. I’m dying over these Sparkly flats! They are such a cute (and still comfy!!) way to dress up a cute skinny jeans. LSU girls…they have GOLD! RUN! Shop them HERE. So green in the kitchen has been on my radar for a while now (specifically even since my design crush Bailey published THIS stunner), but now I’m loving how the trend is trickling down into mainstream in the form of pretty mints and sage colors. I clearly love it mixed with gold hardware and white marble, too. #DUH. What are your thoughts on this kitchen trend? I think that I’d be brave enough to do the lowers and stick with white on top… image via I LOVE this black top with this gorgeous delicate lace tie for a date night, especially paired with a distressed skinny jean, glam earring and great heel! Shop it HERE for well under $100. I always get caught up watching those darn food videos on Facebook (please tell me I’m not alone!??!) and actually made one of the recipes when my parents were in town. These babies are strips of bacon coated in pancake batter…um yum! They were easy to make in large quantities and I gave everyone their own individual syrup cup for dipping. Here’s the full recipe. Did you hear the big news???? J. Crew is now available at Nordstrom!!!! I’m still quite confused by the whole thing, but overall I think that I like it. From what I can tell, Nordstrom is selecting the best of the best from J. Crew and offering it in store and online. The prices appear to be the same, but since J. Crew always always offers some kind of discount code I am wondering if Nordstrom will match it? Overall, I like shopping Nordstrom WAYYYYY better, so I’m wondering if this might be perfect! See the full Women’s Collection HERE. Blazer Skirt Sales and Steals: Ladies, THIS IS NOT A DRILL…these over the knee boots are on sale for $81 in both of these great neutral colors!!! Almost all sizes are still left, but hurry and snag a pair because I seriously cannot get over this price! Shop them HERE. I talked about these flares earlier in the Spring and just noticed that they just got marked down 50% off! They are so super duper flattering and are now well under $100 for designer denim. I LOVE them for Fall with a tunic sweater or long vest. Shop them HERE while all sizes are still available. Here’s a pic of them on… I’ve been loving this necklace for quite some time now and need to just pull the trigger on it…thankfully, now it’s marked down to $28!! I love it over a cute collared shirt for casual wear or dressed up for many occasions. Shop it on sale HERE. I hope that you guys have a great weekend and enjoyed this week’s Friday Edit! xoxo
