Trend to Try: Flat Mules August 8, 2016 | Well, Hi! How are you guys? I’m all excited today because I’m sharing a very hot Fall trend with you today and am going to work a little harder than normal to ask you to step out of your comfort zone. When flat mules first hit the runways over a year ago (a la Gucci), I was most definitely unsure about them. They were brimmed with wonky fur trim and gave off a very menswear vibe that I didn’t find flattering. Well, the darlings of street style took to them right away and made flat mules one of the most unexpected shoe trends of last Fall. Thankfully, coming in to this Fall, there are quite a few more options that look much more feminine and are wildly more affordable! #amen I’m definitely grabbing a pair (or two) because I actually really love the comfort factor (hello flats!) and am open to so many different ways to style them. Think boyfriend jeans, raw hem jeans, tights + a sweaters, a boho maxi dress, a denim skirt, boyfriend chinos…the options are endless. Mules are also a great workplace option! Leave me a comment and tell me which mule below is your favorite and I will buy + style them in an upcoming post! Hint: don’t say the Gucci, because they are out of the budget… SHOP FLAT MULES JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content. Not to mention they are a total steal and would be cute paired with black or brown. Two | $29 High style and a LOW price, these are great for girls who wear a lot of solid black or those willing to take more of a fashion risk. I love the metallic as a fun texture to add in for Fall. Three | $120 These are definitely one of my favorite styles and a very clean and refined mule. I think that this pair is a great way to ease into the trend and still have a shoe that you will get a ton of wear out of! Four | $595 These are where it all started. These Gucci mules are responsible for the whole trend and I still love the classic feel of them. If you want to see all of the other wacky styles Gucci has come up with, check all of the mules out HERE. Five | $119 Loving this blush + tassel combo, and I’m not alone because this style has been selling out like crazy. I found them in blush and black HERE, and also in stock HERE. Six | $278 The preppy feel of these makes my heart flutter. I think that these would be so cute with a skinny black ponte pant and a simple white button down…perfect for a creative office environment! Seven | $120 These are so close to sold out, but I couldn’t resist including them. They are super similar to the Gucci in both shape and aesthetic and are over $400 cheaper. A great dupe if you want a very similar look! Eight | $89 I don’t like to play favorites, buttt I think that these are my favorites…for all around look, shape and PRICE! They come in this beautiful camel color, black and a really on-trend rust color. I think that these embody the trend so well and are also really affordable. Nine | $153 These mules are so sleek and clean and are the perfect shoe if you like feeling more polished or want to wear them to work. Ten | $620 Definitely an investment piece, but omg that bow! Okay, now that you know what’s out there, here are a few ways to style your favorite flat mules! Pair your flat mules with boyfriend jeans and a moto jacket for a simple + chic look that’s definitely on trend… Via Pinterest Keeping with the boyfriend jeans, this time throw on a trench or a tunic vest for another casual + chic look to transition into Fall with. Via Pinterest Source This is likely how I will be styling my flat mules this Fall…a great pair of tights with a cosy tunic sweater or poncho and some comfy mules. Source If you follow along on Instagram, you know how I’m feeling about the new boyfriend chinos that I bought last week (very similar to the below). I could definitely see myself throwing them on with mules and a slouchy t-shirt for a day full of errands. Via Pinterest Here’s some shoppable style inspo and how I plan to wear my flat mules through this Fall! Like I mentioned earlier, I definitely think that the tights, sweater tunic route is the easiest to start with. A comfortable and casual outfit that’s always chic. Top it off with a felt floppy hat and a cute cross body and you cannot go wrong for transitional temps! JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content. Maroon Floppy Hat | Gold Earrings | Tunic Sweater (under $100) | Best Tights | Cross body Bag | Chain Link Mules I also love flat mules paired with a cute boyfriend jean, preferably if that said jean also has a frayed hem. Throw on a cute peasant top or boho blouse and you are ready to go for a brunch or day of shopping. JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content.
