Loving for Summer: COLORFUL Coordinates!

It’s no secret that I love a good coordinates set, but add in fun Summer brights and bold patterns and I’m basically going to just hand over all my money! Today I’m partnering with Nordstrom to share why I love sets and how I mixed and matched them for some killer Summer outfits. I’m also sharing how to make the pieces work overtime in your closet, sharing ideas on how to pair them with basics that you might already have for unlimited outfit combinations!

Gibson + HiSugarplum launched today at Nordstrom and it’s probably my favorite collection yet! It came just in time for a warm June and all of the vacations that you guys have planned. The premise of the collection is that everything coordinates. The shorts and skirts all match back to the tops and everything is made of the exact same tones so that it can all work together. Here are my favorite looks and how I styled them multiple ways:

Colorful Coordinates: Serape Stripe

Bold Serape inspired stripes are one of the hottest trends for Summer and they nailed it with these colors. The one shoulder ruffle top paired so well with the red shorts and I love this outfit for a casual Summer dinner.

The shorts are an easy pull-on fit with a full elastic waist and a cute tie. They come in a ton of colors and prints and I want every pair. The red especially is good for Summer because a good red short is hard to find and really comes in handy for July 4th festivities. I’m wearing an XS here and prefer this fit over the small.

It’s a tough call, but the striped one shoulder top might be my top pick from the collection. I just love the colors and liked it with the shorts and skirt and cannot wait to style it with white jeans and white shorts. It’s such a statement top and so perfect for Summer. I am wearing the XS here and liked the fit.

Now we take that same top and pair it back to the coordinating skirt and you have an entirely different look! I love how these two pieces together almost look like a dress, but can also work individually to create a ton more outfits. Such a win when investing in new Summer pieces. The skirt was a good fit in the XS, but if you are under 5’5 probably best the get the petite version so that it’s not too long.

Colorful Coordinates: Unexpected Color Combos

I love how this collection is full of unexpected color combinations like the below red and blue combo and THIS pink and red combo. I took the same red shorts and the same one shoulder silhouette and paired them together again for an entirely different look!

Someone please book me a flight to the Amalfi Coast so that I can wear this outfit where it belongs! Doesn’t it just scream Italian Vacation?! Or some other beautiful Summer destination?! I loved the print when I first saw it, but didn’t know that I’d love it THIS much. It’s absolutely beautiful and another great July 4th option.
