Splurge or Save | Summer Maxi Dresses May 30, 2019 | Maxi Dresses are some of my favorite things to wear during the hot Texas months. They are breezy, feel feminine and are very easy to wear. I particularly like wearing maxi dresses for Summer date nights and always add a few to my lineup each year. Today I’m I chose two of my new favorites—one’s a splurge and one’s a save—and which I liked best. Nordstrom is always my go-to for maxi dresses….and, well, dresses in general! Their maxi dress selection is SO good right now, so if you have a special occasion, a trip or just a fun date night coming up, you’re going to want to see these. Splurge or Save | Summer Maxi Dresses with Nordstrom Red Floral Maxi Dress (wearing a 2) | Black Floral Maxi (wearing a small) This orange/red floral maxi is the definition of a show stopper! It’s the splurge option and worth every penny in my opinion. It’s SO well made, fully lined and the print is so bold and beautiful. I love that it’s also tiered all the way down, knots at front and gives you great waistline definition. It was easy to wear with flip flops but I could have also easily worn a wedge or heeled sandal to dress it up a bit. Red Floral Maxi Dress | Resin Earrings | Resin Bangle (orange) | Resin Bangle (brown) | Sandals | Clutch | $16 Sunnies I felt like the support and fit was good enough to not have to wear a bra (ideal), but you could also wear a strapless with it with no problems. For this one, size based on your chest and waist size. I’m wearing a 2. I’m giggling at all of these “hair in the wind” photos that look all glam. It’s the farthest thing from what my actual everyday looks like and taking photos in this wind was a lot more embarrassing and a lot less glam 😉 I’m LOVING the resin accessory trend happening now and think that it’s SO fun for Summer. I’m wearing all resin pieces here and love how they add unexpected pops of color without being too bold. It has lots of girly details and the price is definitely right! *Note- I’m wearing the exact same accessories with both dresses, proving how functional they are! The side slits also made it a little more sassy without showing too much. Because of the open back, you can’t really wear a bra with this one, but it does allow for a sticky bra, which should work fine. The fit is pretty easy on this one because the waistline is elastic.
