Today I want to introduce you guys to one of my favorite new (to me!) brands that I have completely fallen in love with and also let you in on why I think that it’s necessary to invest in classic pieces. I recently discovered LUISAVIAROMA and have been SO impressed with their assortment. Based in Italy, they have the most amazing assortment of luxury brands, fashion forward pieces and top notch customer service, not to mention they ship worldwide. My shipments arrived in such a timely manner and there was not one detail missed…from the beautiful navy blue box to the impeccable wrapping…it truly was like receiving the most beautiful gift.
While the majority of my posts are fairly budget conscious, I wanted to take a minute to talk about classic pieces and why I think that they are worth investing in. There are definitely things in my closet that were what I would consider a “splurge,” but I often take my sweet time thinking it through before purchasing and really try to understand if a splurge piece will be considered a fast fashion trend or a classic closet staple. Classic closet staples for ME are often shoes and handbags and, in the end, the wearability of these pieces season after season justifies the price point in my book. See what classic closet staples that I think every girl needs in her line-up and also some tips on identifying how to determine if something is worth the money….
Jimmy Choo 120mm Pumps
Classic Investment Pieces That Every Girl Needs:
–A great dressy handbag. Whether it’s a clutch, cross-body or tote…you need a great quality handbag in a neutral color to grab and go. I always sku mine a bit dressy because normally that’s when I’d want to wear an investment piece. This one is definitely on my wish list.
–A sexy nude pump. Throw these on with anything from your favorite denim to your best little black dress and always know that they make you feel your best. Also, when worn with a dress, they always lengthen the leg, which is a total win for me! The Jimmy Choo 120mm pumps that I’m wearing here are definitely that shoe for me. This putty color literally goes with everything and really do a number on making your legs look their very best.
–A carry-all tote bag or a “mom bag” in my case. I’ve been using my carry-all bag for 8 years now and it’s definitely been one of the best things that I’ve purchased to date. It’s a bag that can hold way more than it should (which is a good thing for me) and can be thrown on while you are rushing out of the door. This bag should go with anything and be made of a durable leather. THIS one is super fabulous for the price point.
–A great over the knee boot for the Winter and a fabulous sandal for Summer. Having one go-to great shoe for each season is a must and it’s reassuring to know that if you invest in classics, you can wear them for seasons to come. These OTK boots make me swoon and these rockstud sandals are definitely proving to be a classic and can be dressed up or down.
PS- This little frilly + fun dress is marked down 50% off to $65! Perfect for a Summer wedding. Shop it HERE.
These Jimmy Choo pumps come in various heel heights…the ones I’m wearing here are the 120mm and are the tallest heel. They are not for the faint of heart, but certainly elongate your legs like no other shoe you’ll ever wear. If walking in sky high heels is not your forte, opt for the 100mm.

What Makes a Classic?
–Longevity. Is it a really new+hot trend? Do you see if fading fast? If so, don’t invest in splurge pieces right away.
–Wearability. How wearable is the piece? How often will you be able to add it to an outfit effortlessly? Does it match back to a lot of current pieces in your closet?
–Price Point. Set some limits for yourself based on the above. Personally, I’m likely to spend more on a bag than I am on shoes, because I will likely carry it longer.
Throwback New Balance for Women
I love these New Balance sneakers. They are so perfect for athleisure looks and really add a fun throwback feel. I consider these classics because this silhouette from New Balance has been around for decades, yet it’s still stylish and always being re-invented with colors. I definitely think that a classic sneaker like these should be in every girl’s closet!
