Workwear Staples from Day to Night February 14, 2019 | Hi Friends! Happy Valentine’s Day! Today I’m coming to you with a work to weekend post with some workwear staples that I just love. This topic seems to be what you’d really like to see more of styled on the blog and I thought that this was a great way to start. I found THESE PANTS and they truly wow-ed me. I love the silhouette and the fit and how easy they are to wear. Traditionally they look like more of a workwear pant, but the more I kept playing around with them, the more that I found the silhouette appropriate for after 5! They almost fit like a tailored jogger pant (which you know I LOVE for weekends), but they are still tailored in all of the right places. Not to mention, they get great reviews, come in extended sizes, come in quite a few other colors and are a FAB price—these are a real winner! See how I styled them from work to weekend below! Left: Lilac Top (S) | Black Pants (S) | Black Heels | Sunnies | Tote Bag Right: Red Lace Cami (great price!) | Black Pants (S)| Leopard Heels | Layered Necklaces | Sunnies | Clutch For the workwear look, I paired a modest satin blouse (on sale!) with the pants and it’s fun but still polished. The necklace in appropriate and you can easily wear a regular bra with it. I know sleeveless is fine in most workplaces these days, but if not this outfit is totally conducive to throwing a cardigan or blazer over too. The flexibility also makes it a great transitional look. Lilac Top | Black Pants | Black Heels | Sunnies | Tote Bag My favorite Christmas gift was hands down this tote bag. I’m loving the size and the color and really like that it feels different from other designer tote bags. It’s been a great work + mom bag for me and I love that it came with a clutch inside of it, too—which you can see how I styled it below! Although not a traditional after 5pm silhouette, I really do love the look of these pants paired with a beautiful cami, jewelry and fun heels. They give off a laid back, cool feel and I love how that pairs with a girly cami + accessories. Camis can be hard—either they are too sexy or look a little cheap. This one if a great option and is just the right amount of sexy + sophisticated, and also GREAT quality for the price (under $40)! It comes in quite a few colors too and could easily work as your “go-to” date night top! Red Lace Cami (great price!) | Black Pants | Leopard Heels | Layered Necklaces | Sunnies | Clutch Accessories are so key when spicing up an outfit that has very little pattern. This delicate layered necklace is always the one that I reach for when wearing a cami. It reflects the light well and gives off a little sparkle, in a very non-rhinestone way 😉 Like I mentioned, I love my MCM tote because it came with a clutch inside of it. Not only is it well made but gah it’s been so useful. When thinking through an investment bag and comparing this one to a Louis Vuitton tote, here’s the breakdown. Mine is the same size as the Neverfull GM which costs $1400, and the MCM one is $795. It also came with a clutch at no extra charge and the LV clutch that’s the same size is $525. So the investment overall is around $2,000 vs $795! Whether you wear business casual in the workplace or are just looking for an all around great go-to pair of black pants, I hope that this post gave you some inspiration to think outside of the box when it comes to silhouettes and styles. Would love your feedback below on these types of posts! Happy V Day!
