We’ve Got This in the Bag

…the Hospital Bag that is. When starting to pack my bags I literally had NO idea what to put in them. With lots of advice and some blog snooping I was able to eliminate quite a few things I thought that I needed initially, and add some things that I would have never ever thought of. The most clever advice was to pack baby stuff in ziplocs, bring change for vending machines, buy ahead travel size toiletries (so that you’re not searching for deodorant at the last minute) and to bring your own baby wipes (supposedly some hospitals are only allowed to give wet paper towels??). Moms–how does this look? Do I need to make any last minute additions??

***Well I didn’t quite finish this post in time…Miss Landry Kate arrived 2/6/13 and is the most precious gift from God!
Here are a few fun hind-sight notes…

Baby:
-Bring the wipes! Rumor was true in our case….paper towels…eeek!
-I brought tons of fancy schmancy swaddle blankets but in reality the hospital ones have worked best…so take as many as they allow. And in our case have a Halo Swaddle blankie waiting for you when you get home

Mom:
-My favorite thing was my fun pink print hospital gown! It was a gift from my sister and the talk of the nurses station. Not only did it make for cute pics, but I actually got to take it home with me to remember her birth forever.
-Like the list said, I brought lots o cute PJ’s especially for the hospital…lets just say I would stick to the gowns next time around.
-I was very glad to have shower stuff, makeup, and straightener–getting up, getting ready and feeling like myself felt great!

Dad:
-Everything was good on Dad’s list, but on the clothing make sure to bring a light-weight zip up hoodie or jacket…perfect for some skin-to-skin time 🙂
