Weekend Recap! June 23, 2014 | Good (Monday) morning to you guys! I hope that you had a great first weekend of summer! Summer has been in full swing here for weeks now, but I’m all about celebrating. It was HOT here this weekend…like humid, hot, felt like you were breathing through a straw type heat. No bueno. We did manage to get out and about (and in the Pool!), so here’s a little recap of what we got into… I randomly popped into Hobby Lobby on Friday afternoon and was blown away by their assortment. I posted this Instagram two months ago about the urchin I found, but hadn’t been back since. Well, kudos to you HL for finally easing up on the burlap and bringing in some on trend home dec! I got this metal marquee ampersand for $15 (50% off) and plan to DIY it so that it lights up and is the focal point over my bar cart. I also got an amazing bust for 80% off ($12!!!). I will be going back very soon! Friday night we tried out Paco’s Tacos in Southpark for our Friday Fiesta. It came highly recommended, so we stuck out the 45 min wait with a sleepy toddler. Food//margs were okay, but not our favorite. We might give it another whirl… Saturday I got up extra early and got the biggest latte allowed and just dove around aimlessly looking for yard sales. There were quite a few, but sadly I didn’t score anything too big. I did get needlepoint quote that I LOVE for $3 and I also got my mom these two framed prints for $6. They are so beautiful and will look amazing in their farmhouse. She knew what they were right away and is excited…so win win. Saturday afternoon we decided to beat the heat and hit the pool. I finally found baby girl a cute suit with sleeves. My little is definitely Irish and her skin is super sensitive to sun, so the re-applying sunscreen every 20 min was wearing this mama out. She loved her suit and so did we! She had a blast with her daddy and mastered jumping off of the side into our arms. Sunday morning we headed to Church and then out for brunch. We hadn’t been to Leroy Fox in a while, so decided to re-visit. Food was yummy. Once we were home, I finally finished and photographed by DIY jewelry organizer and I will share it with you this week…I kind of love it. Cheers to a good week ahead!
Irene Toohey says June 23, 2014 at 12:13 PM Sorry, I mixed up my first comment! Anyways, I cannot wait to see what you do with the letters! I think I'll buy some myself and wait for the tutorial as that's exactly what I've been wanting to do in our boys' playroom! Great find!-Irene lifeandlovely.com

Zoe {The Latina Lens} says June 23, 2014 at 8:43 PM Hobby Lobby has been so good to me (not my wallet) the past couple of months! We took our 3 year old and 10 month old to the pool this weekend and I think they still smell like sunscreen! Can't wait to see the finished DIY

Beth of designPOST Interiors says June 24, 2014 at 12:55 AM OK maybe I was just really craving Mexican when we went to Pacos Tacos because I devoured mine, but then again that's not saying much. Don't put chips and salsa in front of this girl 🙂 I love all of the outfits!
charmingincharlotte@gmail.com says June 24, 2014 at 12:54 PM Now Beth, I should clarify….there was nothing left on my plate, so it def wasn't terrible! Remember we moved from Tejas, so we are a little snotty about our TexMex 😉
