Weekend #2 October 24, 2012 | Overall, our weekend was pretty laid back and relaxing here in CLT. Most of which centered around D watching the Cardinals play ball. Saturday we woke up and attemped breakfast here but we were a little too late and the wait was well over an hour. We will try back this weekend—can we talk about the fact that they have Red Velvet Waffles with some sort of cream cheese drizzle!? ‘Scuse? Then we ventured out to the burbs to IKEA. I’ve been seeing so many IKEA hacks on Pinterest and knowing that we desperately needed matching chests for either side of our bed—we went for it. Two “Rast” chests later (and lots of hesitation from Dan), we were all set and I will begin their re-vamp soon—stay tuned! Next, Dan has had this cute lunch place on our list to try so we stopped in for a late lunch and to watch the rest of the LSU game. It was located in the 4th Ward (which is nestled right next to downtown) but feels so far removed from the city. The homes are old and charming with leaded glass windows, rocking chair front porches, and oodles of gingerbread trim. The restaurant itself was an old house converted into a tavern. It was quaint and you could tell most of the patrons were residents of the neighborhood. We will definitely be back! http://almikestavern.com/ On Sunday after mass we got a wild hair and decided to head to Bank of America Stadium and see if we could score some Panthers vs Cowboys tickets. Although we were pretty high up there in the nose bleeds—we enjoyed the afternoon watching the Cowboys pull off a win!
