The Friday Edit October 7, 2017 | Hi Friends! It’s Friiiiiiiday!!!! Doing my best happy dance over here with my coffee writing this Friday Edit! Geez Louise here we are and the first week of October has already flown by and I just feel like we are all on a high speed train headed right for the end of the year…and that makes me sad. What are you guys up to this weekend? We are booked solid with Birthday parties on Saturday…there’s always something about October and so many birthday parties (ahem #HolidayBabies). Then on Sunday we are taking Landry to Disney on Ice. She’s so excited and has had a little countdown going on her chalkboard. It’s so so cute! This week on the blog I was able to work through two posts, both of which I absolutely LOVED writing. The most popular was Wednesday’s post on how to make family photos less stressful! I talked all about how to prepare outfits and what to know ahead of time in order to make the process less stressful and more fun! See all of the details HERE. The most popular items were definitely my red tunic (newly marked down by 40%!), Landry’s darling dress and the girls’ matching metallic sneakers. What We’re Wearing: Dan: Puffer Vest | Plaid Button Up | Dark Wash Jeans (currently on sale) | Similar Boots | Belt Me: Red Bell Sleeve Tunic | Dark Wash Skinny Jeans | Booties | Earrings | Similar Necklace Lawson: Stripe Dress | Tights | Headband | Metallic Shoes Landry: Printed Dress | Tights | Metallic Shoes Tuesday’s post was all about my big gal! Landry Kate joined us for a little 4 year old Q+A and I just want to freeze her in time. Read all about what she had to say HERE. My Sweater Option 1 (ALL sizes in stock!) / Option 2 / Option 3 (available in 10 other colors) | Black High Rise Denim | Leopard Slides | Olive Green Bag | Sunnies | Gold Earrings Landry: “Ballerina” Dress (such a great price + tons of colors) | (Similar) Chambray Button up | White Leggings | Glitter Boots | MY Sunglasses Instagram: The top Instagram from the week was our Fall front porch! I totally re-used my DIY Pumpkin Topiary idea from last year and it was a huge hit on Inststories. If you missed the step by step DIY you can still find it HERE. Wreath (Homegoods) | Pumpkins (Trader Joes) | Door Mat This little sweater was quite popular on Instagram this week and rightfully so because it’s so cute and only $39! It’s lightweight enough to layer with but also really great worn solo. Also comes in 4 other colors! Sweater | Earrings | Booties | Jeans I love it styled with this long sweater vest too! Sweater | Hat | Jeans | Vest | Booties I also shared this date night outfit that you guys seemed to like. I love it because the tank is a wonderful color and only $29…perfect to layer a blazer over as the weather cools, too! Tank | Necklace | Jeans | Bag I went to a fun event at Kate Spade this week and finally had an excuse to wear this darling leopard dress! It’s $39 (!) and a great piece to wear for work (think black tights, etc) or weekend. Dress | Earrings | Bag I’ve had this bag for a while now and never really have worn it until recently. Funny enough, now I can’t put it down. It’s the perfect size to take out for the evening and still allows you to bring along everything that you need! It comes in a variety of colors and textures (now I want a velvet one) HERE. Link Love + Life Lately I was going to try and wait to share these when they came in, but I’m too dang excited. I mean HOW COOL are these kicks?! You should see the other colors they come in, too…I debated on a color for a solid 15 minutes but finally went with this rose shade. Landry finally decided that she wants to be Poppy Troll for Halloween and has yet to take her costume off…I cannot wait to show you guys the cuteness! I also got Lawson THIS one….omg! PS costumes are BOGO 50% at Target right now! Since Apples are so fresh right now, I’ve been hunting for recipes to try. This one jumped out at me and I want to try it for breakfast tomorrow morning. It seems like something Landry could easily help with too…which she loves. Apple Fritter Monkey Bread In really big and exciting news…my friend Monique just released her first children’s book!!! Color Me Georgi is now available on Amazon and we are all obsessed! It really gets children involved and encourages them to participate in the coloring of Georgi. I loved it so much that I sent a copy to my nieces and nephew as well 🙂 Truly a great gift for any young child on your list and fun knowing that the author is an amazing mama right here in Charlotte! I’m really loving all things Free People lately (not really shocking, I know), but geez how good is THIS SWEATER! So cozy with just enough details. See all new Free People arrivals HERE. Sales + Steals: Y’all Nordstrom took some great markdowns this week! I tried to must up an entire post around the sales, but I couldn’t get to it. Here’s a good recap: These booties are a FAB deal at under $60 on sale! The shape is great so that they really elongate your leg and can easily be worn with a skinny jean, flare jean, dress, or leggings. My two favorite colors are the tan and the blush! My fav new blouse is being price matched this weekend (look for an Instastory try on today!). A great look with distressed denim and boots or dressed up with a blazer. The leggings that I RAVED about in THIS POST are on temp sale and it’s a great time to snag them 25% off! Shop them HERE. My absolute favorite tunic sweater (aka really a sweatshirt) was marked down in ALL colors to $29! The best thing to throw on with leggings and sneakers or jeans and booties. Shop it HERE. Looking for a great neutral flat boot for every day? This ultra comfy pair is on sale! Shop them HERE. Also, if you’ve had your eye on anything from BaubleBar, they are having an amazing sale!!! Markdowns are an EXTRA 20% off! Lots of my current favorites are on sale….see everything HERE. My favorite necklace was originally $68 but now $32 (!!!) during the sale! I hope that you guys have a wonderful weekend! xoxo
