The Friday Edit September 29, 2017 | Wait, am I really typing this?! A Friday Edit?! OMG! Y’all…I’ve missed this weekly post! The weeks have been so busy and so hectic that by Thursday, I cannot even muster up the energy to open my computer. This week was a little different because we actually found a darling nanny to care for Lawson a few mornings a week while I sneak out with my laptop and get some work done. It’s only been a few days and it’s making #allthedifference. Thank you to all of you who cheered me on as I wrestled with the decision of moving forward with a nanny search. If you follow along on Instagram, you might remember that I reached out to you working mamas about some advice on whether or not to scale back on work or hire help. Every single response was to hire help. You encouraged me to keep pouring into this little business I’ve built and then continue pouring into my babies and be fully present with them in the afternoons. I’ve always known in my heart that it was the right move, but mom guilt will sneak up on you like a freaking gazelle and really tackle you while you’re down. I’m glad that we are moving on and thrilled to have Lawson learn to love someone else while mommy is working. This week was a big ole week on the blog! I had so much fun churning out 3 posts and even trying new things over on Instagram. Here’s what you seemed to love the most: Top Post: Your favorite was definitely the shopbop sale post. I know you love a good sale and I love you for that! You’re my people. Of all of the items featured, it looks like you scored all things Free People and quite a few of you took my advice on the Golden Goose sneakers. I ended up buying THIS TOP and THESE JEANS (excited to try a new silhouette). p.s. the sale ends TODAY, so if you’ve been eyeing anything, scoop it up NOW! It’s a great resource for Fall style inspo and quick and easy everyday outfits. This seems to be everyone’s favorite #ootd…especially those leopard slides...because hello they’re so great! Utility Vest | Favorite White Tee | Skinny Jeans | Leopard Mules | Mixed Metal Necklace Tuesday’s post was about styling this darling plaid peplum for a casual Fall day. Luckily, it’s now $35 on sale and there are still sizes left! Plaid Peplum (Now $35!) | Cardigan | Skinny Jeans | Tan Slides | Crossbody Bag | Bracelet Stack (on sale) | Earrings | Sunnies Instagram | lots happening on the gram this week, including a new series that I’m SOOOO excited about! Top pics: It’s only September and I already won’t shut up about this cardigan. We are in for a long Fall, friends lol! Anyway, lots of you are getting them in and messaging me about how much you love them and that just makes me happy. If you haven’t scored one yet, don’t hold off. Size down one for the best fit 🙂 Cozy Wrap Cardigan | High Waisted Leggings | Long Layering Tank | White Smart Watch This knot front sweater is another fav on the blog, especially at under $50 it’s a great deal! Knot Front Sweater $49 | Boyfriend Jeans | Mules | Similar Necklace (on sale) Even though this little swing dress was only temporarily on sale this week, it’s still an awesome Fall find! Remember THIS post where I styled it 3 ways?! Embroidered Swing Dress (also in THESE colors) | Flat Boots | Periwinkle Cross Body Bag | Similar Felt Hat | Gold Watch Instastories: since Instastories seem to be the place where everyone gathers lately, I’ll start doing a short recap of my top stories from the week! Make sure that you are viewing them (even if it’s just tapping through them), so that Instagram continues to show them to you! I (finally) did a live review of the Spanx (faux) Leather Leggings on stories and styled them a few different ways. Here’s a quick recap of the looks: One | Leggings styled with this oversized sweater and leopard slides Two | Leggings styled with this thermal tunic and cool sneakers Three | Leggings styled with this convertible sweater, camo jacket and booties Four | Leggings styled with the same convertible sweater Top 5 Nail Colors for Fall (I posted these yesterday, but I’m planning a full blog post on it soon…stay tuned) Life Lately / Link Love Tomorrow night we are going on our first official date night post baby. BTW I don’t recommend waiting this long to head out with your hubby after baby…I also don’t recommend living so far away from your family! Anywayyyy we are going to see Jason Isbel! We bought tickets in March and can’t believe it’s finally show time. We both love his music, but Dan is really into the sound and introduced me to him about a year ago. If you haven’t heard his music start with THIS SONG. I find that he sounds like a more country John Mayer and resembles my fav Ray Lamontagne! Speaking of date night, it’s supposed to cool off quite a but here today and tomorrow and I’m already plotting to wear my beloved bomber jacket and actually curl my hair. I even splurged and am having the sitter come early so that I can actually get ready. I mean, these are big steps for me friends! I made this cream cheese pumpkin dip to take over to a friends house last weekend and I always like to share it with you guys every Fall! It was literally one of my first posts ever and is so embarrassing to look back on…but the recipe is SO good I can’t bear to take it down. If you need a quick app to bring over or a little Fall treat to whip up for some Football watching…this is your recipe! Find it HERE. A few of you have asked about little Lawson’s headbands that she’s been wearing in my most recent Instastories, so here are the details. I bought this big pack on Amazon and I’ve actually really liked them. They fit her head well and really stay put. Also, an awesome price…making them like $1.50 a headband. I mean I cannot handle the cuteness some days. I’m finally ready to decorate my porch for Fall! Well, really I’ve been ready since Sept 1, but I always try to curb my enthusiasm until 10/1 so that my pumpkins aren’t completely rotten by Halloween lol. We just ripped up and re-worked out entire front yard, so decorating my front porch will be such a treat this year with our new landscaping. I’m definitely going to put THESE out again and already scored the most hysterically cute doormat. Now on to the pumpkins and mums! Is anyone else absolutely flipping out over this new line at Target??!! OMG! These floor lamps have me drooling! I have no where to put it but truly want to buy and store them for when I do. Such amazing prices, too! See the entire collection HERE. Since the weather is FINALLY cooling off this weekend, boots are on my mind! Truth be told, I don’t really need any major investment boots (remember I bought THESE during the Nordstrom Sale?!), but I do need a great basic black ankle bootie. I love wearing this style with black denim for a long lean leg line (say that 10x fast lol). I don’t wear black shoes often because I feel like they draw the eye down and are unflattering on me, but these black booties paired with black jeans (that I wear so often in Fall/Winter) make for a very flattering silhouette. My last pair similar to this were from Target and I should probably upgrade them. I love this simple pair below…well made and affordable for a boot. Sales + Steals LOFT is having 40% off of all Dresses + Pants (+ 40% off of sale styles) through this weekend! The one below is my absolute favorite and she will live in my closet! It’s only $53.00 during the sale and so functional! p.s. quite a few of you have requested a LOFT try-on sesh, so hopefully that will be on Instastories this weekend! Speaking of cute dresses, THIS ONE is on major sale at Nordstrom. I have last years version and it really is SUCH a cute fit. Layer on top of it for a super easy transition look. (Was $69 // Now $41) Nordstrom has really really great pieces on sale right now! Here are my favorite sale categories to take advantage of: Sweaters on Sale Jeans on Sale Dresses on Sale Macy’s is having an extra 20% off with promo code FALL through 10.2 I hope that you guys have a wonderful, relaxing weekend and enjoy this wonderful Fall weather! xoxo
