The Friday Edit December 9, 2016 | Oh heyyyy back with a Friday Edit!!! It’s been two weeks since I’ve written one and, not even going to lie, I missed it! I love putting everything in one place and seeing what your favorites from the week were. Whew what a busy week…so far, there are 5 new posts and one planned for this weekend! That might be a record y’all! I’ve been a busy busy bee. If you’re reading this we are either mid-ultrasound or already know what baby F #2 is! Eeeeek. Catching up, we tried to find out on 11/28, but the little stinker wouldn’t show the goods. Hopefully with some growing over the last two weeks and some migrating into my upper abdomen (um ouch, expanding rib cages are for the birds) we will be able to easily see what’s going on down there. The previous ultra-sound tech gave us a few hints, but wouldn’t confirm so we are really anxious for the big day! I promise promise to let everyone in on the secret ASAP! It’s been a huge week for the blog and there have been so many new visitors…so WELCOME new friends! If this is your first time reading an Edit it’s really just a smoorgasborg (spelling?) of everything that happened over the week…what the top blog posts were, most loved outfits, best instagrams, things I’m loving from around the web and also any sales that you can’t miss. If you read one post a week, this should probably be it! Let’s do it… Top Post: Holiday Home Tour 2016 | This is always one of the top posts of the YEAR…you guys love a good festive home tour. Thanks for all of the love this year! I think that the wreaths on the bay windows were definitely the most popular on Pinterest (such an easy idea, right?) and the flocked ombre tree continues to a favorite. See the full post HERE. The style post for the week was about a “Trend to Try” and that trend is cold shoulder sweaters. Cold shoulder and off the shoulder were so big this Summer and I love how they’ve carried over to sweaters for Winter. The one I’m wearing in the post is a great mid-weight and has the perfect amount of style details and a little surprise for when you take your coat off. See the full post HERE. Cold Shoulder Tunic Sweater | Similar Scarf HERE + HERE | Faux Leather Leggings (I’ve also heard amazing things about THESE and people swear they are definitely worth the price) | Leopard Clutch | Statement Earrings | Black Booties | Felt Hat There were also TWO Luxury Gift Guides that came out on Monday…one for the girly girl and one for the neutral lover. The most popular items seemed to be the luxe faux fur throw, the monogrammed overnight bag (that looks like a Louis Vuitton but is like 1/4 the price), and the bow print jammies. One of my favorites was from the hostess herself, Lindsay knocked it out of the park! Mr. UPS man will be delivering my Christmas present to myself (whoops) this week! I finally caved on this quilted beauty, as I really don’t have a go-to black bag. I love the look of it and think that it’s an awesome size. I’ve had my eyes on it for a while now and I’m excited to finally own her! See all Rebecca Minkoff bags (including velvet options…gasp!) HERE. Remember when I wore this darling reversible poncho that totally sold out in like one second? Yea, bummer! The good news is that they now make it in the cutest scarf that’s so festive and also makes a great gift for $26! Shop it HERE. I nearly died when I saw this shirt….how hysterical! For $22, I might now be able to resist… I’m thinking about putting an entire post together dedicated to Christmas Breakfast ideas…what do you think? I came across these sausage, egg and cheese roll ups using crescent rolls and thought that they would be the most perfect Christmas breakfast addition. Yum! See the recipe HERE. Not even going to lie, I started snooping nursery designs this week and I’m secretly getting REAL excited! They only true inspiration that I have is for a baby boy room, though…is this a sign? The gingham in this little space had me all googl-y eyed! view the entire space here. Came across these darling Kate Spade shoe bags and thought that they would make the most perfect stocking stuffers for the traveling gal. They are only $18 bucks and super darling! Shop them HERE. Sales and Steals: We discussed the cold shoulder trend a lot this week and my friend Laura sent me this top she found on sale and I LOVE it!! It’s not a sweater, but more of a blouse and on sale for under $50 in a ton of colors. I might size up for this belly and give it a whirl. Jackie T. says December 9, 2016 at 1:51 PM I have the cold-shoulder Pleione blouse as well and it’s very cool! I usually wear a small in that brand and even an extra-small sometimes in the short sleeve designs, however, I went up to medium in this one because the arms were tight on me but fine everywhere else. That’s why I love this trend, if you’re older like me and maybe you’re arms aren’t quite as firm as they once were, it covers the bat wings and showcases your shoulders! 😉
