Style Board Series: Swimwear for Moms March 28, 2017 | Hi Friends! I’m so sorry that this Style Board Series post is a day late, but I hope you’ll understand why as you make your way through it. Today we are talking SWIMWEAR for (super cute) MOMS! Once I scratched the surface of this subject, I had no choice but to dive in head first (I’m so punny, lol). No, but honestly, finding a cute swimsuit that you can chase a toddler in AND feel confident in is nearly impossible! So, I took on this issue and came up with a TON of stylish, affordable and practical swim solutions for my mamas out there. Beware…this post is long and detailed and full of information and feedback. I’d love it if you let me know what you thought and shared it with other mama friends who might be facing the same swimsuit struggles! Before we get started, here are a few of my thoughts on swimwear… –Feeling confident is KEY! Do you feel best in solids or prints? One pieces? Two pieces? Have you given any thought to what cuts flatter your shape? –Functionality is a must. We all know that kids are known to grab, tug and pull at you all day long…and the pool is NO exception. We are trying to find suits here that make it really hard for toddlers to expose lady parts. –Butt Floss is simply not okay. Girl, if you have a hiney that you want to show off…go on ahead…but let’s just not do that at the family pool….mmmk? It makes everyone uncomfortable. The terrible thing is that about 50% of all swim bottoms are what I would consider butt floss. There’s no way it’s comfortable and it would simply end up in the wrong places in a matter of minutes. We are avoiding this at all costs AKA I looked for full coverage bottoms. -Consider it an outfit. At the risk of sounding completely vain and simply ridiculous, I think that making your pool or beach wear into a true “look” (just as you would any outfit) is super important. I think that having a great matching coverup, a few chic accessories and a fashion forward and functional tote all play toward pulling together a really cute look, making you feel less messy and way more confident when heading to the pool. Okay on to the fun stuff! Here are 3 curated boards with swimsuits that I hand picked based on style, functionality, cut, and price point. Once I found suits that I loved, I created Style Boards around them to give you ideas on how to create full “swim looks” with them in mind. I also give details on each piece below the shoppable board and have a huge roundup of other pieces that I loved at the end of this post. I hope that you enjoy! *Note, the boards and links are shoppable, but most of the 2pc suits are linked the tops, the matching bottoms are always a suggested piece on the right side 🙂 JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Panama Hat Everyone needs both a panama hat and a fedora hat for the pool. This one is a great price and a good neutral accessory. Embellished Slides I posted the neutral version of these in last week’s Friday Edit and they have since sold out EVERY.where. I do also love the black version and thought that they were perfect for all of these black and white suits. Ballerina Wrap Top Okay I thought that this was the absolute cutest idea. It’s a ballerina style top that wraps around front and ties in the back. It allows you to show just a little cleavage but also offers support and coverage. Super cute with printed bottoms or basic black bottoms that you already own…even wear it with shorts. Off the Shoulder Ruffle 2pc This 2pc set is super on trend with off the shoulder and ruffles, but I love that it has small shoulder straps to offer support. We all know that strapless with toddlers is virtually out of the question. Flounce Ruffle Underwire 1pc This is one of my favorite suits throughout the entire post. It’s feminine and flirty, has underwire for support, and the oversized ruffle hides any “mom pouch” that you might be fretting about. I think that it’s such a darling suit to wear to the pool with kiddos. Miracle Wrap Suit with Sheer Panels Okay guys, this brand comes HIGHLY recommended and reviewed. It’s supposed to nip, tuck and shape and make you look absolutely fabulous while chasing the babes through the pool. I love that this black suit has rouching details and also has some sheer side panels for just a hint of sexy. This silhouette is one of my favorites, but definitely check out their entire collection HERE. White Tassel Trimmed Coverup I adore the breezy silhouette of this cover-up. It’s something that you can put on for a beach lunch and the back details are not to be missed! JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content. Floral + Lace 1pc This full coverage suit certainly doesn’t lack details, which I love! It’s got great support and full coverage, but also offers an on-trend print and delicate lace detailing and inserts. Such a great trendy option! High Neck + Waist 2pc This is another brand that came HIGHLY recommended for busy moms! It’s shaping, yet still sexy and a little sporty at the same time. I love he high waisted rouched bottoms and high neck top…a perfect combination for mamas on the go. See the entire assortment from THIS BRAND HERE. Fedora Hat This is one of my favorite Summer pieces! I’ve had mine (this exact one!) for over 2 years now and it’s awesome! Under $20 and a total go-to for me to throw on with nearly anything. Gold Hoops You guys already know how much I love these. I wear them to the pool and beach every year because they are so lightweight. Strappy Maxi Dress Coverup (Highly rated, multiple colors, UNDER $60!) This coverup comes back year after year because so many people love it! It gets great ratings, is an amazing price and can be worn over a suit in so many situations. It’s really functional and fun and a piece that I think you’ll be glad you scooped up. Gold Metallic Slides I LOVE these for pool days, but also for denim shorts and lots of casual wear. If you are looking for a great neutral Summer sandal…definitely consider these guys! Pom Pom Beach Bag I mean HOW CUTE is this tote?? For under $50, it’s a total no-brainer. Warning: I bet this one sells out soon! JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. It really is great full coverage, but doesn’t lack style details and is also a great price. High Neck Printed 2pc I didn’t include many printed suits, but funny enough I usually gravitate towards them. I loved this print with a slight pop of color and I also really liked the coverage lines. Pink Wrap Top, Full Coverage 2pc This wrap top is flattering and stays in place by wrapping around and tying in the back, so essentially it offers double support. The bottoms are also fuss free and full coverage. Tassel Trimmed Coverup I mean…how CUTE is this?!! Metallic Birkenstocks | Pink Beach Bag (avail in multiple colors) | Turquoise Tassel Earrings (avail in multiple colors) | Wide Rimmed Beach Hat Tie Neck Maxi Dress Coverup (great price!) I added this beauty to my cart last night! I love the tie neck and versatility of it since you can easily throw it on for beach dinners or even a casual pool day. The price cannot be beat! High Neck Wrap Floral 1 pc This is SO glam! Probably best for you small chested mamas who want more coverage on the bottom. LOVE the print! Lace Detail High Neck 2pc Another gorgeous lace detail 2pc in a classic white that makes for an on-trend suit that’s still practical! Plunge 1pc Another awesome option probably best for small chests. Glam and gorgeous with just a hint of sexy! You guys, this coverup keeps selling out, but as of right now it’s in stock, so I wanted to share it with you guys. I’m obsessed!
