Style Board Series Volume 1: Week 7 | Date Night Outfit Inspo

If you tuned in to yesterday’s #MomStyleMonday post, you know that this week on the blog it’s all about Spring date nights! When I asked you guys for feedback on what type of outfit inspiration that you wanted, so many of you requested date night looks. It’s so easy to get lost in workwear (or workout wear) that we often forgot how to sass it up a little for a night out with your man, right?! Putting together yesterday’s post, I realized that there’s not one specific formula that works when it comes to date nights these days. Some are casual, some are during the day, some are at night, some are couples, some are dressy…I mean the list goes on and on and, to be honest, we use just about any excuse for a date night so you really never know what to plan for.

In today’s Style Board Series post, I wanted to give you guys some staples for your closet that make no fail options for date night, regardless of the dress code. I made 3 Style Boards– One for casual date nights/days, one for trendy date nights and one for more dressy date nights. Keep them on file for when you’re planning your next night out and you won’t be stuck in your closet at the 11th hour wondering what to wear! Casual Date Day + Date Night // Outfits that are great for a Sunday brunch date, outdoor music show, trip to a local brewery, or even just an early dinner al fresco at your favorite Mexican restaurant…

A pair of go-to denim shorts, some breezy tops and a great casual dress are essential to have on hand for Spring. These pieces should be effortless and casually cool…

Stylish Date Night // Okay you’re stepping it up a little here. These looks are great for Spring evenings out on the town…trying a trendy new restaurant, a local wine bar, an indoor concert, or even a couples date night.

Having good “go to” jeans that always fit and flatter is essential for this look. Pair those back with trendy tops and accessories and you have a fun look that’s stylsh

The designer of the red top shown makes the absolute best trendy basic pieces, that would work for so many occasions. They are a slight investment, but are pieces that you’ll own for a long time. If I could have an entire closet of a designer, it would be THESE pieces with fun accessories to style them up with!

Dressy or Formal Date Night // Likely a special occasion or event…Valentine’s Day, Birthday, Anniversary, Gala, Work Party, etc.

Having one or two flattering cocktail dresses in your closet is always a good idea. Throw them on with on-trend accessories and you are ready to go on a semi-formal date night…which is always fun!
