Style Board Series: Casual + Cool April 11, 2017 | Goodmorning Guys! We are on Spring Break this week, so if it’s a little more quiet around here than usual…you know why! I love these Style Board Series posts so much that I couldn’t bear to skip one, so I created this super cool and laid back Spring outfit in celebration of Spring Break and some good relaxation. Switching it up this week, I did a Splurge or Save version of the same outfit to give you some “high and low” price point options. I really based it around the denim shorts because I truly love both pair. The Splurge version is made by my favorite designer denim brand and at $150 they are expensive, but I love the longer length, darker wash and distressing. Since denim shorts are so versatile, it’s easier to justify this price point. The Save version of denim shorts are a total steal at $78 and I scooped them up the other day. They have about an inch shorts stride, but are really well made and perfectly on trend for their price point. These are a great pair to add to your lineup if you don’t want to go the designer denim route! Here’s how I styled both pairs of shorts for a casual and cool Spring look… JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content. These are great “busy mom, haven’t washed my hair” accessories to grab for the Summer, especially at under $30! I paired the denim shorts with a simple striped tee, giving a little interest but still making it easy to layer on top of. Of course, most of you know that I have a favorite t-shirt. Going on two years now, I’ve been living in THIS v-neck boyfriend tee. It’s just the best, no other way to put it. This season they’ve come out with a tank AND this striped version that I used in the SAVE outfit. I love how versatile it is and still so cute. The high-low tee that I used in the Splurge version really isn’t a splurge after all (although it is more than double the cost of the Save option), but I did like the option of the longer back to where you could front tuck it in to denim shorts and still have the back to cover your tushie. Taking the simple combo of denim shorts + striped tee and using layers like the green military vest, a chic walnut cross body, stylish sneakers and on-trend tortoise sunnies you have a super easy-to-put-together Spring look that’s also fun and trendy.
