Lawson’s 3 Month Images From Little Nest + Her Sleep Schedule August 24, 2017 | Hi Friends! Sharing little lady Lawson’s 3 month photos with Little Nest today as well as our current schedule with her. Let me start by saying, we have been incredibly blessed with this little girl. She is SO sweet and mild tempered. She goes with the flow and just let’s us cart her around town every day. That being said, from month 3 to 4 she’s definitely started to show a little more, shall we say…personality, haha! Here’s the schedule that has been working for us and a few things that we are still trying to work through… First, I cannot thank Little Nest enough for these photos. I will treasure this sweet age and these rolls they captured forever! This is our third experience at Little Nest and they just keep getting better. We arrived (late of course) and they had everything beautifully set up and ready to go. We’ve had the same photographer each time (Melissa) and she is truly a baby whisperer. She eagerly takes control of the baby and Lawson happily goes with it…making things a LOT LESS stressful for me. She snapped all of these beautiful images within 15-20 minutes and we were on our way. A painless experience that was actually fun and so rewarding to now that we have these images. If you want beautiful, natural light photos of your family definitely consider Little Nest. Also, if you are considering photos for Holiday don’t wait because their books are already filling for October and November! Ok, so first off I should say that I *never* thought that I would be one of those moms who really tries to stick to a schedule. I like to pick up and go and really just saw my babies adapting to that…napping in their carseats, etc. Well, fast forward through first baby girl and again until now with my second and I am SO that mom who tries her very best to stick to a schedule. Not only is it what my girls really crave…all but telling me that they are ready for a nap, and really preferring to be asleep in their familiar environment (aka crib)…BUT it’s also what I crave as a mother and really look forward to my downtime. With Landry it took me a little longer to figure out that a schedule was best for us both, but now with Lawson I started planning for and working towards it between 7-10 weeks. We have it pretty nailed down, but are still working on the afternoon nap and now we are dealing with a touch of reflux and two front teeth…so that clearly disrupts it some (most) days! haha! Morning: Lawson wakes anywhere from 6-7 a.m and I try to wait until at least 7 a.m. for her first feeding. She will nurse for around 30 minutes for her first feeding and then we head downstairs with big sister for play time. Right now, she’s only able to happily stay awake for about 1.5 hours and then starts to fuss, so I oblidge, let her nurse quickly and put her down for her morning nap anywhere from 8-8:30 a.m. Ideally, I’m working to push that closer to 9 a.m. so that she’s not absolutely melting down when we are dropping Landry off to school within the next 2 weeks. Stay tuned for that S*#T show 🙂 She normally naps for about 2-2.5 hours and this is her really solid, peaceful sleep. During this time I work and then leave myself 20 minutes to get dressed and put my makeup on. Lace Romper ($3.99 …no that’s not a typo) Afternoon: Lawson wakes up from her morning nap between 10-11 a.m. depending on the above, so still a pretty big window here. When she wakes, she will nurse and then we usually head out for errands or lunch. I always try to get out of the house during this window for my sanity. If she woke up at 10a.m. it’s normally a little harder for her to make it all the way to her afternoon nap at 1:30, so it’s likely that she will cat nap somewhere in there to regain her bearings. Normally, that’s not a very graceful process (especially when we are in the car), so I try to keep that in mind as I plan out what we need to do. Lawson’s Romper ($3.99, I kid you not) I really try to be home from our errands by 1:00-1:15 and get Lawson ready to go down for her afternoon nap. She will nurse again and I’ll swaddle her and normally put her down awake. She typically fights it for about 10 minutes and then gives in to some shut eye. When I get her to go down awake, she’s usually set for a solid 2 hour nap, but if not we play a game of paci wars. I try to be as strict as possible with keeping her in the crib but if she wakes and fusses for 15+ minutes I usually take her out. If she does wake early, I’ll put her in the Ergo carrier to take the remainder of her nap. My goal is to always make sure she’s asleep between 1:30-3:30 to really establish her schedule. When she wakes, we have some play time while big sister is still napping and she will then nurse again around 4ish. Once Landry wakes, I try to get them both outside to enjoy a snack and maybe even a walk. If we are walking, Lawson might take another little cat nap, but normally she’s awake. Dinner is at 6 p.m. and I try to have them both bathed by 6:45. Lawson starts to wind down at 7 p.m. and we are nursing from 7-7:30 p.m., with a goal of having her down by 7:30 each night. She currently sleeps through the night until about 6:30a.m., which is such a blessing. She is still swaddled in this swaddle and sleeps in the Doc-A-Tot in her crib. I plan to swaddle her (arms in) until she can roll over, which we are getting close to. After that, I will transition to arms out, but still in the Doc. I definitely think that having her daytime routine scheduled helped to get her sleeping through the night faster too. Lawson’s Romper ($3.99, I kid you not) I think that I covered all of your questions from Instagram in the schedule above, but if you have any others, leave them in the comments below. Thank you again to Little Nest for these gorgeous images and your fabulous partnership! Want to see more images from Little Nest? See our Maternity Shoot HERE See Lawson’s Newborn images HERE

Style Your Senses says August 25, 2017 at 6:37 AM Aw thank you Joyce! We are seeing a little bit of Landry in her lately too!
Katie says August 24, 2017 at 2:36 PM Go mama! My son (first baby) is almost one and has always been a great nighttime sleeper but boy it has been a ride to get a nap schedule down! Lawson is adorable 🙂
Style Your Senses says August 25, 2017 at 6:37 AM Right?!? And I always feel like I should be thankful because they sleep well at night…but mama needs a break during the day. Solidarity, mama. solidarity 😉
Jessica says August 25, 2017 at 1:10 AM I love reading real Moms’ schedules for their babies. I have a five week old and I’m working on establishing a routine to give our day some normalcy (especially for me and older brother). I love that you offer naps in the crib but give her some flexibility if she fights it. Any tips that worked for getting her to sleep through the night? It took us 7 months with my oldest so I’m hoping to do it sooner with this baby.
Style Your Senses says August 25, 2017 at 6:36 AM Hey Jessica! I know I also find it so interesting to read other peoples schedules…haha! Congrats on your new baby! For us its about teamwork. Once I felt confident that she could make it 12 hours without eating (around 10-12 weeks when she weighed about 15lbs) I always send my husband in to offer the paci to her if she wakes and fusses. That works 99% of the time and she doesn’t have to see me and think of food lol. There are definitely still exceptions though…if she has a bad night feeding before bed I can almost always predict that she will be up earlier and that’s when I will actually wake to feed her because I know she’s probably hungry. Whew that was long winded sorry! haha!
Donna says August 28, 2017 at 7:06 AM Lawson is precious! Beautiful photos. Did you have to work to drop any night feedings? My little guy is 5 months, similar daytime schedule with 2 good naps, but he still insists on waking at 2 or 3 am to eat. Maybe I should have gotten a Dockatot a long time ago! 🙂
Style Your Senses says August 28, 2017 at 9:50 AM Hey Donna! Ok the Docatot really was a game changer, but we did work to push out her last night time feeding. She stalled at 4am for a while, so (when I felt she was ready, which your guys probably is at 5mo) I worked to push it out 1 hour at a time over two weeks and eventually got her to 7am. Very much team work with my hubby because every time I go in there I swear she smells me lol. My hubby goes in each time to give her pacifier until it’s wake up time. Hope this helps!
Cassie Jean @ Life on Waller says September 1, 2017 at 12:41 AM So Adorable! I have a 15-month-old and have been horrible at keeping a schedule! So far I’ve only been able to keep a consistent bedtime but to be honest that’s a big achievement for us over here! Love the pictures and the inspiration!
Style Your Senses says September 4, 2017 at 9:37 AM girl it’s SO hard! With our first, I finally learned that a schedule was more to keep my sanity than anything else lol
