Seaside Florida 2014 September 23, 2014 | Hiya and happy Monday! If you follow along on Instagram, you know that we spent most of last week in Seaside Florida with our dear friends. I grew up going to Destin, so I was thrilled to finally make it back to the Gulf Coast. Truly, I love being fairly close to the beaches here in Charlotte, but they really don’t compare the Gulf waters. Although it was great to be away, I am breathing a HUGE sigh of relief over here today, as we are finally starting this week off and getting into a schedule. This summer has been a whirlwind of travel and fun, but even I (who hates to live by a schedule) am so ready to get back into a groove. Back to Seaside Florida…there are three couples (and their 4.5 babes) who vacation every year. This year we chose Seaside/Watercolor and all made the trek by car from our appropriate cities (Charlotte, Austin, and St. Louis). We were definitely ambitious vacationing with that many babies (all under 4, I might add), so it came with highs and lows, but overall we had a great time. Of course, the highlight for us was seeing our little water baby run straight for the ocean again. She soaked up every second of her last trip to the beach for this summer by playing in the waves with mommy and daddy until our backs were about to give out. The other highlight was the house. Oh my this place was stunning. One of the guys actually chose it and did all of the hard work booking, etc (thanks James!), so I went in without any expectations and having never seen it. I was blown away. There was not a detail missed and the decor was beautiful without being overly “beachy.” While it was in Watercolor (a darling neighborhood adjacent to Seaside) and was a little bit away from the beach, it did not phase us at all. The house came with a 6 seater golf cart as well as 6 bikes, so we buzzed around and back and fourth to the beach at our leisure. For those of you who asked via Insta for more details on the house, here’s the VRBO listing. Again, I would HIGHLY recommend it. While there, we got three great days of sunny weather. We headed straight for the beach in the morning, played our hearts out, headed to the food trucks for lunch and then back to the house for afternoon naps (and some quiet time by the pool for the adults). There was one day that was very overcast, so we decided to shop (see Instagram). Later that same day, as the clouds darkened, I couldn’t resist it anymore and hurried our little fam back to the beach for some beach pics in the amazing pre-storm light. So glad we got there in time. And, yes, we really have this much fun 🙂 Hope that you guys enjoyed the photo overload! Have you been to Seaside / 30A / Watercolor? Isn’t it just stunning?! If you haven’t, you should really consider a trip. The beaches and the charming town are hard to beat! Have a great week, sweet friends…OH and make sure you come by tomorrow for the Blogger Stylin’ Home Tours: Fall Edition! Loving this Seaside Florida feature? Erica McLeod says September 22, 2014 at 11:49 AM I cannot believe that this was a beach house rental! It is so beautifully done. Usually beach rentals have peach colored bedspreads from the 70's, rattan furniture, and an overwhelming abundance of shell themed art! What a find.Ericahttp://www.thedecorina.com

Julia Konya says September 23, 2014 at 12:54 AM Gorgeous, gorgeous place. We vacation with friends since our kids were babies every year too. It keeps getting better and better the older they get and I love the tradition. Love all the wine bottles on the island 😉
