Resort Ready Vacation Outfits | Dressed Up + Down January 22, 2020 | *This post is written in partnership with Nordstrom and ShopStyle. Goodmorning, Friends! The good news is that it’s already Wednesday!!! I love short Holiday weeks, although I’m always thrown off. Oh well only two more sleeps until the weekend, and that’s always good news! Today I have a really fun post for you, especially if you are one of the lucky ducks planning to embark on a Winter vacation to somewhere sunny. We are definitely to the point in the year where I am ready for Winter to hit the bricks and really crave the bright, bold prints that await us for Spring. While I know it’s early to update your entire wardrobe, I do think that it’s ok to start buying a few fun pieces here and there to get you excited for the transition. Today I’m taking two of my favorite pieces from the Hi Sugarplum x Gibson line at Nordstrom and am styling them back to some key shoes and accessories from seasons past. Not only am I working back to accessories that I already own, but I’m also styling each piece for day and then for night so that each can work overtime in your suitcase on any upcoming trips and also in your closet for Spring and Summer. I love when pieces can be dressed up or down and these two were perfect examples of fun and exciting pieces that could be Spring staples. Ruffle Neck Romper (Wearing a small / comes in other colors) / Wedge Sandals / Bamboo Bag ON SALE / Panama Hat / Circle Sunnies $19 / Similar Earrings on SALE Ruffled Romper This romper is so dang cute and actually really appropriate for moms and tall gals. There’s a modest inseam that still allows for comfort and coverage, which are key. The print is bright and happy and there’s also a mock neck ruffle and oversized back tie at the neck. It’s the most darling fit and totally lends itself to being dressed up or down. This was my favorite print, but it also comes in quite a few other colors. See all of the colors HERE. LEFT: Ruffle Neck Romper (Wearing a small / comes in other colors) | Gold Sandals | Panama Hat / Circle Sunnies $19 / Similar Earrings on SALE RIGHT: Ruffle Neck Romper (Wearing a small / comes in other colors) | / Wedge Sandals / Bamboo Bag ON SALE / Panama Hat / Circle Sunnies $19 / Similar Earrings on SALE LEFT: Ruffle Neck Romper (Wearing a small / comes in other colors) | Gold Sandals | Panama Hat / Circle Sunnies $19 / Similar Earrings on SALE For dressed down, I threw on my trusty white panama hat from Nordstrom, which by the way I’ve owned for 3 years now and it’s still going strong. It’s a wonderful $39 investment that I wear non-stop during the Summer. For shoes, I always reach for these gold Gucci sandals. Yes, they are an investment, but again this is my third year wearing them and I love having a classic, dressy sandal as a go-to for vacations, date nights, etc. They’ve held up beautifully. RIGHT: Ruffle Neck Romper (Wearing a small / comes in other colors) | / Wedge Sandals / Bamboo Bag ON SALE / Panama Hat / Circle Sunnies $19 / Similar Earrings on SALE Taking the romper from day to date night was easy! I’ve had these wedges since 2016 and they have been my go-to dressy summer wedge. Again, a bit of an investment, but I’m here to confirm that they’ve withstood the test of time both with style and durability. P.S. my go-to dressy sunnies (shown above) are only $19 and I LOVE the shape! Also, my bamboo bag is on SALE for the lowest price that I’ve seen! Embroidered Blouse: Day to Night This little embroidered top is a super happy addition to my closet. The bright blue really pops against white jeans and the colorful embroidery made it easy and fun to accessorize. Not to mention the fabric is super soft and wearable. It also comes in other colors HERE. LEFT: Embroidered Top (multiple colors/wearing a small) | White Skinny Jeans | Gold Sandals | Panama Hat RIGHT: Embroidered Top (multiple colors/wearing a small) | Similar White Flares | Wedge Sandals | Tortoise Sunnies | Wedges Embroidered Top (multiple colors/wearing a small) | White Skinny Jeans | Gold Sandals | Panama Hat For a more casual look, I threw on my go-to white skinny jeans (another item I’ve owned for YEARS), gold sandals and trusty hat for an easy look that’s still fun. ((See what I’m doing here with these go-to classic accessories?? Making packing really easy for ya 😉 Embroidered Top (multiple colors/wearing a small) | Similar White Flares | Wedge Sandals | Tortoise Sunnies | Wedges To dress it up, I paired it with these white flares that WOW. I bought these last year and I’ve honestly been waiting to wear them again since November. They are total showstoppers. I love the flare silhouette anyway and in white it really takes it to the next level. To show off the higher waist, I knotted the top and then threw on the wedges and my favorite tortoise shell cat eye sunnies. I hope that this post gave you some inspiration for Spring and Summer and even some packing ideas for how to maximize items already in your closet and new pieces that can be dressed up or down! If you aren’t quite ready to buy new Spring and Summer stuff, Nordstrom has an amazing clearance section right now and I’ve rounded up my top picks below. Most actually work as buy now, wear now items that can also transition to Spring! WIN WIN!
