Reading Nook Done Right June 1, 2013 | Meet Alison’s adorable reading nook. Ali is a dear friend back in Dallas who (after a long long looong house hunt) is finally settling into her perfect new space, right in time for sweet baby girl K to be born! In a matter of a few weeks, she nearly gutted the place and was able to put it all back together beautifully. Of course, I am dying to see their new digs and it all started when she was trying to show me what a difference the plantation shutters made in this space {and they surely did…aren’t they gorgeous?!}. Needless to say, I fell in love with it. Not shocking since we have almost the exact same taste in everything. Put us both in a TJ Maxx or Nordstrom Rack 5 states apart and I guarantee you we come out with the same things. Anyway, I thought that it would be fun to show on the blog for some truly achievable inspiration. The great thing(s) about her adorable reading nook is that she was really able to capitalize on the space of this sort of awkward shaped room to make it functional (and adorable)…and didn’t have to break the bank doing it. See below how she achieved the look and made the space feel so personal with wedding photos and memorabilia…. She was able to achieve height on either side of the room with the Fiddle Fig on one side and art on the other, which makes the space feel cozy and purposeful. More personal touches below…the painting of them saying their vows she had commissioned for their one year anniversary and below that hangs the guest-sign in from their fabulous Napa wedding.
