Gift Guide: Practical Gifts FOR KIDS November 23, 2016 | Hi Friends! How are you?? I feel like I’m so thrown off my this week, so excuse the random posting. Today I’m sharing a more practical Gift Guide for Kids. I started to curate a Gift Guide for kids toys (which I still plan to do in some form), but quickly realized that there are SO many toys and (so many opinions from the littles) that I might just put the whole thing together in vain. Instead, I’m going to cover Black Friday Sales AND share Landry’s personal wish list within both posts. So, in this post I rounded up some of my favorite practical gifts for kids. Sometimes it’s refreshing to take a breather from the toys and get them things that they will actually use on a day to day basis. I also think that it teaches them to appreciate new things whether it’s a new jacket OR the new Paw Patrol toy. I’ll be sending this list out to anyone who asks for ideas for Landry, because at the end of the day, she has every toy she needs and will inevitably get more, so I would love a few practical gifts sprinkled in there too! We normally wake up, make a breakfast run and head straight to the park, so like me, she wants to throw on tights and a hoodie sweatshirt to be comfy and cute. This pullover by Zella comes in couple of colors and is something that I feel we would reach for over and over again. (Other cute activewear pullovers at a lower price) Two | Water Resistant Down Jacket for Girls This is one of Landry’s practical Santa gifts from us. Dan and I both love this jacket for her and actually sized up one in hopes that she could wear it for two years. These jackets last forever and really stand up to wear and tear from kids. Best part is that it’s also water resistant, serving as a rain coat for really cold, rainy days, too! Three | Water Resistant Down Jacket for Boys Pretty much the same as above, but I really liked this Northface color for boys. Four | Dry Fit Hoodie This hoodie for boys comes in a ton of colors and I like that there’s dry fit technology built in. Meaning that they can run around and even play sports in the cold weather and this will still wick away any sweat and keep them dry. Another piece that I might size up in to get some extended wear out of. Five | Black Leggings + Six | Ruched Leggings These little girl’s leggings are by the same brand who makes my favorite leggings, so I am dying to try a pair for LK. Like I mentioned, she really does want to wear leggings 24-7 on the weekends, so I don’t think that I would regret the slight investment in these. My adult versions have held up SO well, and I would like to think the quality remains true across the brand. (Other activewear leggings at a lower price) Seven | Fitness Tracker for Girls + Eight | Fitness Tracker for Boys I think that these are the CUTEST and COOLEST practical gifts for kids. Not only do these smart bands teach kids the importance of psychical activity, but they do SO many more things….digital watch, calorie monitor, text + social media alerts, and even an alert when you’ve been sedentary for too long! I’m LOVING these for kids of all ages…and you might be surprised at the price! Nine | Thermal Athletic Pants These are a no-brainer for boys. They LIVE in these pants in the winter and another pair never hurt. Ten | New Balance Sneakers A great neutral sneaker for boys that they can throw on for play or even semi-dress up. A classic style that’s not going away any time soon. Eleven | Mary Jane Flats These are at the very top of Landry’s practical list. She had a similar pair of gold Mary Jane’s two winters ago and she literally wore them out and I haven’t been able to find any since. When I saw this new Tom’s pair, I couldn’t get them in my cart quick enough! Not only do Tom’s shoes hold up like champs against toddlers, but I can totally see her wearing these to school and even dressing them up for Church on Sunday’s. Twelve | Butterfly Ruffle Dress These Tea Collection dresses (sizes baby – big girl) are truly some of our favorites. They are great prices and stand up to multiple wears really well. I find them so easy and practical to throw on with tights for a quick and cute school outfit. They are super practical and come in a ton of colors and sizes…if your daughter doesn’t have one, I promise these make YOUR life easier. Thirteen | Boys Cable Knit Sweater I mean is this sweater not so handsome??? I love the suede arm patches and it’s a great option for Sunday best or heavier layering. It does come in darker colors if your little one has a tendency to not keep light colors clean for long 😉 Fourteen | Infinity Scarf Landry seriously loves her infinity scarf. It’s such a cute piece to throw on to “complete” her outfit and I think that it makes a darling gift, too! Fifteen | Hamden Sneaker Boot These might just be the cutest little boots for boys that I have ever ever seen! They come in such a wide range of sizes and I think that little boys could get a ton of wear out of them! Sixteen | Olivia Pajamas and Book Set Okay so this little gift is practical + fun! These jammies come with a night time story to correspond with the character on the set. We love Olivia, but there are A TON to choose from HERE. Seventeen | Batman Pajamas Another cute jammie set that’s in character but still made well and made to last multiple wears. Eighteen | Rainboots + Twenty-One | Rainboots I think that Hunter Rain Boots make the best gifts for anyone on your list, but kids in particular. Not sure what it is about rain boots, but kids LOVE them! These Hunter’s come in a ton of colors and sizes and are great grandparent gifts. Nineteen & Twenty | Water Bottle There are NEVER enough water bottles!!!! One breaks, one leaks, one gets left at the playground…OY! These Camelback bottles are our favorites and they make super cute stocking stuffers for kids. Still want more Gift Guide Inspiration??? See my entire page dedicated to Gift Guides HERE. If I don’t talk to you guys until Friday (I’m still unsure of when I will release Black Friday stuff), I hope that you have an amazing Thanksgiving with your friends and family. Enjoy every little smile, laugh and morsel of food. This year, I am so thankful for you guys. I know that I say it again and again, but THANK YOU for being here day after day….
