Our Week in Louisiana May 28, 2014 | Sorry for the radio silence. For the past week, we were lucky enough to be at home in Louisiana with our family. LK and I left CLT last Tuesday and D came to meet us on Friday. We had not been home since Christmas and it was by far the longest we had ever gone without seeing some of our favorite people. I don’t think that you can truly grasp the heartache of feeling like you need to be in 1,000 places at once, until you live away from your family. It was so so good to be home and we took full advantage of the time and just relaxed and enjoyed each other. The baby girls were adorable together. Did I mention that they are only 3 days apart? It was SO fun seeing them interact at this stage. They were great and pretty much just played parallel to each other. We did lots of cooking, eating, and visiting…the perfect way to unplug. A trip to Louisiana is not complete without a crawfish boil, right? This little 15 month old fireball insisted on pulling LK in the wagon. And she did. All by herself. My parents’ house is beautiful, but now that I can appreciate a good green thumb, their yard truly blows my mind. Their landscaping is incredible and they do it all themselves. My dad also has a knack for growing lots of things…he farms a large pecan orchard as a hobby, grows enough blackberries to feed a small army and had random fruit trees growing all over the yard. They are all budding with fruit now and are so pretty. The late spring shades of deep greens and chartreuse have me scheming up a fun room design. Here are a few snaps… Figs Blueberries Peaches Persimmons I hope that you guys had a great long weekend and spent lots of time relaxing. Cheers to a short week! Back tomorrow with a fun What We Wore post from our trip to the Zoo!
