Fitting Room Files | My Mom’s Top Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks!

TGIF, y’all! I seriously cannot thank you enough for the response to yesterday’s post on the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! Thank you for sharing it, for referring your friends, for emailing me and chatting with me on various social media and for all of your positive feedback. I gave it all that I had and your encouragement made it so so worth it. I hope that you found some pieces that you love and I have already taken your feedback to start writing other posts that will take a closer look at the Sale, with more top picks.

One of the most requested things this Sale has been to have my mom jump in and post some Nordstrom Sale reviews and top picks. I, of course, thought that this was a great idea, but it took some convincing her…haha! I love that you guys have gotten to know my mama here on the blog, as she’s always been where I’ve gotten most of my love of fashion from. Since she’s like any mom who has trouble telling their children “NO,” she agreed to hop on here today and I hope that you guys will show her some love! She chose all of her favorites and we headed to the fitting room to try them on.

She’s 5’4 (and a half, I know she’ll kill me if I don’t give her that .5” credit LOL)

She normally pulls a size M in tops and an 8 in bottoms, which is what she’s wearing in all of these photos unless otherwise noted.

NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE – DRESSES

Ok, first up this bell sleeve dress. She thought initially that it might be a little too bold, but once she put it on we were both sold! This is great for Fall occasions and can even be worn with leggings. The fit is SO flattering.

Bell Sleeve Shift Dress $91.90

I love a wrap dress on a woman of any age. They always just accentuate the right places and are effortlessly flattering. This one has small accordian pleats and a wonderful season-less print.

Print Fit and Flare $91.90

What we liked about this one was the silky material and the flattering waistband and asymmetrical way the fabric drapes to draw the eye in all of the right places.

NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE – TOPS AND SWEATERS

She was a little hesitant about the open shoulder on this top, but tried it on anyway because it really does feel like a worn in, super soft sweatshirt. Once she had it on you could tell that she liked it a lot more. The cold shoulder is still age appropriate and the bow details just make it so cute. It’s also a great deal at under $50!

This is one of my favorite outfits that she tried on! I just think that it’s so sophisticated, yet is really on trend at the same time!! The fur vest is not super heavy, so it functions as a great layering piece that’s also functional and plus you’ll wear it for seasons to come!

We both agreed that this sweater was one of our favorites! It’s lightweight, flattering and has such a cute tie front. Not to mention it’s under $40 and comes in a ton of colors!

This top is so cute and I would actually wear it a ton, but my mom felt that it was a little overwhelming for her. It’s got a swing style, so it’s flowy.

We also really really liked this sweater too. The mock turtleneck is a great detail, as is the exaggerated side tie. It’s a medium weight so you’ll get some true warmth with it too. Best part? It’s also under $50 and comes in a ton of colors!

She could have probably sized down in this jacket, but we both loved it as a great Fall layering piece. It’s lightweight and soft and really cute over a thin sweater or button up. The olive green color and peplum hem are so on trend for Fall.

I recommended this tunic cardigan in yesterday’s post and my mom concurs…it’s AWESOME! She bought this color and the black! We layered it here with this lightweight camo t-shirt for a comfortable and cute Fall outfit.

This blouse is a bit dressy, so great for work or tucked into a skirt for Sunday best. It’s feminine and the most beautiful shade of blush pink. A great price at under $50.

I pulled this $39 top for my mom to try on and I got a big ole eye roll from her, but once she put it on she changed her tune. The exaggerated ruffle sleeves and bright red color are so on trend, yet flattering and appropriate for any age. I love it with skinny jeans and even a distressed boyfriend jean. She will inevitably pair this with a pair of leopard flats…just like I would 😉

Another basic top that’s been elevated with ruffle details! I mean is this not the cutest dang top for $45?!! Pair it with white jeans to wear now and then skinny jeans and a cardigan for later. Such a great piece.

Funny story, I had to leave to go feed Lawson and had to teach my mom how to take a “mirror selfie” in my absence. I thought that she was ready to call it quits at this point LOL but she powered through and ended up taking the cutest pics! This little sweater cowl neck is a wonderful layering piece for Fall. She’s wearing it with my favorite high-waisted leggings, but you can easily pair it with skinny jeans, too.

I recommended this great basic tee yesterday and my mom also agreed that it’s awesome! She bought this color and the stripe, just like me!

Ok this elevated t-shirt is on sale for only $25 and is SO cute! I love the stripe and the bell sleeve. So easy to throw on and feel put together with very little effort!

She also really loved this $31 button up tunic with the leggings. A great length to wear with leggings and boots as the Fall approaches.

I should also mention that these skinny jeans that she has on in most of the photos were one of her top picks and she bought them right away. True to size, a great fit and SO flattering!

She also bought these slides and we both love them. I also tried to buy them, but they didn’t have my size any more.
