My Week Home + LK’s Baptism October 14, 2013 | This past week, I was so lucky to be able to spend a whole 6 days back home in Louisiana with my family! LK and I left CLT early last Tuesday morning and got back late last night. She was such a trooper through all of the early morning/late night travel and slept for all 4 plane rides. AMEN! The point of the trip was to baptize our sweet love. Yes, a little late in the game, but we really had trouble deciding on where to have the ceremony since we are sort of nomadic as of late. We finally decided that my home church would be the place. That way both of our families could be there to celebrate with us. It turned out to be the perfect decision. Since the girls are 8+ months old now, they are really aware of each other and it was so much fun to see them interact. Beware of the photo overload to come! Our nightly wagon ride. We got our parents this custom Radio Flyer wagon last year before the girls were born and its so surreal to see them riding in it now. It turned out to be such a great gift. First things first…on Wednesday we went shopping. First stop was our favorite boutique, Vertage. We go way back, as I worked there all through college and still love all of the girls there. They had entirely too many cute things so we tried on a ton, took a lunch break and then came back. Whew. I ended up leaving with so many cute pieces for Fall! You can thank me later, but they recently launched their online store and um the prices are amazing! A few of my online favorites are here. here. here (took this little guy home!) here (have this one and LOVE it with leggings and boots). and HERE (is it too early to think NYE?!) Happy Shopping 🙂 Then (if you follow on Instagram) you’ll know that my mom and sister convinced me to check out their Burlington Coat Factory with them….and I was shocked. I scored so many things for LK, including the 5 pair of adorable shoes that I posted…for under $25! The baby department is gigantic and fully stocked with all of the latest baby gear at a fraction of the price. While I wasn’t super impressed with the baby clothes, I did score some footless PJ’s for my gal which are turning out to be very hard to find! I also picked up a few things for myself…hoping ours here in CLT does not disappoint. Thursday was looking pretty awful after a botched manicure and my phone going for a swim in the pedicure bowl (stunning. just stunning!), but then we dressed the girls up and headed to the pumpkin patch and things got better real fast!!!! LK is surely saying “you’ve got to me kidding me with that camera, mom” they are too much. my heart overflows. it was definitely NOT feeling like Fall at the pumpkin patch. Good ole Louisiana heat. Next, we headed to Rhythms on the River. They have live music every Thursday night and people bring blankets and just hang. The littles LOVED the 80’s cover band music and were bopping along the entire time. So tuned in. LOL. Having wayyy too much fun jigging with her Gigi. Lastly on Thursday night we all went out for Sushi (which I had been CRAAAVing) to celebrate my little brothers birthday! It was absolutely delicious! Do you think that we got enough? Friday we went to pick up D at the airport then headed to the little town of Washington. There’s a huge, old highschool there that they converted into an antique mall. Once or twice a year they invite vendors from all over and they set up shop in the school yard. We went to check it out and while there were a few cute things, the heat overwhelmed the experience. My mom did get a great twin sized iron bed for one of the girls to put in her farmhouse. Finally, on Satuday, we celebrated her Baptism. It was perfect! D’s family came in from Dallas and joined my family and we could not have asked for anything more. So blessed. love this. With Father and her Godparents. My whole world. The cake was amazingly delicious. With her nanny 🙂 Hope that you had a great weekend and are making it through Monday just fine.
