Mommy and Me Fall Style With Joules (+ Big Discounts!) November 26, 2017 | I got so excited about sharing this Mommy and Me Style with Joules USA post that I decided to publish it a day early because literally their entire site is 30% off! When Joules asked me to partner with them on a post, I was just a wee bit excited!!! I first learned of the brand last year because I stumbled across some of their darling floral rain boots online at Nordstrom and was so intrigued that I took a deep dive into their site and immediately fell in love. Joules is a beloved British brand that’s making its way across the pond to the US with bright, happy colors, bold prints, and great quality to withstand the test of time. My Outfit: Grey Marled Poncho | Striped Layering Shirt | Pom Hat | Rain Boots Lawson’s Outfit: Floral Dress + Leggings Set | Pom Hat | Quilted Jacket Landry’s Outfit: Striped Dress | Quilted Vest | Rain Boots | Pom Hat Although I was familiar with the brand, this was my first full order, so I feel like I can really speak to what you can expect when investing in their pieces for the first time. I loved that it was easy to coordinate all of our outfits, because their color palettes span across all size ranges. I placed the order and it arrived very quickly with free shipping over $50 (if you need it even quicker, their expedited shipping is under $5!), which is always a win in my book. What I was most impressed by was definitely the quality. The girls’ dresses are thick and made SO well, yet they are still comfortable and built for play. Since these photos, they have also been worn and washed multiple times and there has been no loss of color or vibrancy. The whole feel of the brand is colorful classic, which I absolutely love. It feels polished but not stuffy and the quality is 100% worth the investment, especially at these Black Friday prices! Striped Dress | Quilted Vest | Rain Boots | Pom Hat Landry has requested to wear this exact outfit approximately 1,000 times and I’m totally fine with it because it’s absolutely precious on her. Floral Dress + Leggings Set | Pom Hat | Quilted Jacket Lawson’s outfit actually came with leggings that were 100x cuter than the ones she’s wearing (see HERE), but she had a bit of a “situation” (if ya know what I mean) right before these photos were taken, so we had to make do. Their selection of baby clothes is out of this world cute. I just sent THIS, THIS and THIS to my mom to add to Lawson’s Christmas list! Grey Marled Poncho | Striped Layering Shirt | Pom Hat | Rain Boots Finally, let’s chat about my outfit (not that you even noticed it when these two cute nuggets are in the pics with me…ha)! I can’t decide which piece is my favorite because I honestly love the entire rig. You guys know by now that I love a good poncho, so THIS ONE makes me especially happy. It’s an acrylic + wool blend so it’s not scratchy or overly warm. It’s a cozy piece that’s really easy to wear and perfect for pairing with jeans or leggings. If you want to make it a bit more festive, grab the red colorway! Cutest selection of baby hats HERE (all under $15 on sale!) The cutest rain boots for the entire family HERE I was beyond happy with our rain boots (kind of what Joules has become known for). Even at the regular price of $79 for a women’s pair like mine...I can tell you that you will be SO pleased with the quality and fit…but at the sale price of $55 you will most certainly be doing a happy dance around your house! The cutest gift for your sister, girlfriend or even mom or MIL. Other things that I was really impressed with: Women’s Blazers The CUTEST Women’s Booties Men’s Coats and Blazers Men’s Sweaters Best clothes for Boys! Now that the Holidays are in full swing…I really want to hear more about your favorite Christmas traditions! What do you do every year with your families that make it special? What do your kids look forward to each year? Christmas is insanely magical for Landry this year and I want to keep thinking of ideas to make it more special for her. Here’s what we do: -Read the Polar Express or Twas the Night Before Christmas nightly -Adopt a child to buy gifts for -Take $50 out of the bank in $1 bills and that way I always have money for her to put into the Salvation Army buckets. -Head to McAdenville to see the Christmas lights! -Build a gingerbread house -Watch Elf (our absolute fav) -Make a list for and take photos with Santa (although Landry is still leery) -I’ve also found that VeggieTales has quite a few great videos on the true meaning of the season and they are a great way to help her learn. We also love drawing the Nativity Scene together and talking about what roles each person played in the most special night of ever. -Tried getting Polar Express tickets but they are all sold out…such a bummer -Dan and I also get a sitter for one free weekend night and treat ourselves to a nice dinner then head out to Toys-R-Us to play Santa. We look forward to it every single year. I’d truly LOVE to hear what your special traditions are! I’m always looking for inspiration! Leave them below in the comments and I’ll pick a random comment # and send you a $25 Starbucks gift card! xoxo *Thank you so much to Joules for sponsoring this post! All ideas, content, photography and opinions are my own. As always, thank you for supporting brands that in turn support Style Your Senses! Giveaway winner:

Tiffany Stark says November 26, 2017 at 2:03 PM How cute do the girls look in this post?! Growing up, my family always watched ‘The Santa Clause’ on Christmas Eve (still a favorite of mine!). We also always ate store bought cinnamon rolls (the kind in the tube!) for breakfast on Christmas morning. Such a quick and yummy treat to look forward to on Christmas morning. Now that I’m married and on my own, my husband still keep up the Christmas movie and cinnamon roll tradition, and are beginning to add traditions of our own. We have started buying a simple, new ceramic ornament from crate & barrel each year- such a fun keepsake to hang on our tree every year!
Maggie says November 26, 2017 at 2:07 PM Growing up on Christmas Eve my parents let us open one gift which was always Christmas pajamas to wear that night. After opening the pajamas we made cookies and watched the movie a year with out a Santa Claus (a family favorite)
Theresa says November 26, 2017 at 2:08 PM We decorate after thanksgiving during the thanksgiving break and when we get our tree, we then get Taco Bell (with the tree on top of the car) every year ????. I do the same with a Christmas ornament repressing something special for the year. I love brunch. Christmas Day we stay home and I cook a brunch. Girls have hot chocolate and I sip Baily’s
Olivia says November 26, 2017 at 2:23 PM My family goes out to Chinese food every single Christmas Day. We always have one extra place setting in remembrance of my great grandma who started the transition. It’s something to look forward to every single year
Gabrielle says November 26, 2017 at 2:24 PM We buy toys for a local Children’s home in Rockwell, NC. My dad helps organize a toy drive. You should check out Denton Farm Park. They have a train you can ride, Santa, petting zoo…
Emily Redden says November 26, 2017 at 2:28 PM We do Christmas caroling with our church- walking around our small town and also visiting nursing homes. My daughter and I attend a Christmas themed play or musical. As hard as it is with school activities and practices, we try to Christmas movie/cartoon nights as often as possible!
Jackie T. says November 26, 2017 at 2:31 PM Oh my gosh, we adore Elf too! My youngest son and I watch it every year while we decorate the tree, just like we did last night! Can you name the four food groups for elves??? ;P
Meagan says November 26, 2017 at 2:44 PM We decorate the tree the weekend of Thanksgiving and every thanksgiving night everyone gets an ornament for the tree and new Christmas pajamas to wear all season long. We also have a great light display at our zoo and it is one of our all time favorite things to do in december!

Robin Parma says November 26, 2017 at 2:48 PM I have a 6 yo, a 4 yo, and a 20 mo old, and Christmas time is such fun with them. They each get a Christmas ornament from St. Nicholas, so decorating the tree each year is a family affair. They love to listen to and watch the ones that light up or play music. They love hearing stories about some of the special ones. We also watch the VeggieTale St. Nicholas video on Dec. 6. There is an Advent reading plan for the Jesus Storybook Bible that we enjoy together each night, along with opening a new door on our Advent calendar. It is a magnetic one that allows you to place a character, animal, or star on the Nativitiy scene. We read TONS of Christmas books throughout the season, including many books about saints. Tomie de Paola and Jan Brett are favorite authors. We pair books with fun activities, such as reading Gingerbread Baby before creating gingerbread houses. Sorry for getting carried away…I love Christmas!
Veronica says November 26, 2017 at 2:50 PM Absolutely adorable girls and clothing line! We love this time of year and enjoy so many family traditions. Starting with the elf on the shelf making her appearance on Black Friday morning and she brings the kids matching pjs, brunch with Santa, going to manhattan to see the tree and ice skating under the stars. We also do a date night, go to dinner (enjoy some festive cocktails) and hit toys r us. The last few years, we paid off a few lay a way orders in hopes of making a strangers Christmas just a bit easier. By far one of my favorite traditions! Happy Holidays!!
Bridget says November 26, 2017 at 3:16 PM One of my favorite Christmas traditions is opening gifts one at a time so the giver can see the recipient’s reaction and the recipient can express their gratitude right then and there. Makes the gift giving more meaningful and doesn’t hurt that it makes Christmas last longer.
Katie Hylton says November 26, 2017 at 3:26 PM Order a carry out pizza and eat it while we drive through our local parks Christmas light display, bake Christmas cookies (more nightmare-ish and this point, they are 2 & 4 but looking forward to the day it’s not so messy), visit Santa, sibling Christmas shopping (we split up and my husband takes one kid in the toy aisle and I take the other so the kids can pick out gifts for each other)
Grace Briceno says November 26, 2017 at 4:04 PM Every year we hide a pickle ornament on the Christmas tree and whoever is the first to find it gets an extra gift. Even though we’re all adults now it’s just as fun and competitive as it was when we were little.
Stephanie F says November 26, 2017 at 4:05 PM I love to hear that Veggietales has several great “true meaning of Christmas” videos. I’ll have to check them out. My family loves to do 25 random acts of kindness, one each day in December leading up to Christmas. We take cookies to police officers and firemen, volunteer at homeless shelters, Andy deliver The true story of Christmas books to our neighbors.
Juanita says November 26, 2017 at 4:13 PM Love this brand!!! Once December hits go to Christmas light shows all around the state and go to the Nutcracker!! Such a wonderful and classic play. Christmas Eve we sing songs to Jesus, crank up Christmas music, and leave out “reindeer food” aka corn in the yard for sanaras reindeers!!
Jordan Broughton says November 26, 2017 at 4:19 PM We always bake cutout Christmas cookies and decorate them with icing/sprinkles etc and package them up in cute little Christmas goodie bags to give to the employees at my parent’s small business!
Jennifer Quick says November 26, 2017 at 4:47 PM Growing up, the girls in my family got matching pjs and we got to open them up on Christmas Eve. My mom also got us 2 games to play before bed. It was a lot of fun and tons of memories made. My dad would always make breakfast on a Christmas morning which was always a treat!!!
Mandy Ruch says November 26, 2017 at 4:57 PM Growing up, my family had traditions for every. single. holiday…. which was fun as a kid, but super cumbersome as a parent. When we first started having children we tried to be really selective about which ones we carried over. We wanted more Jesus, less busyness, commercialism, ‘have-to’s’ and stuff. For our family of five, we light an advent wreath each Sunday. My littlest one and I always skip a day of preschool to bake cookies. But my favorite thing is when we pull out our little people nativity set. Our boys love playing with the pieces and it’s fun to watch Optimus prime and paw patrol characters in the cresh while Mary rides in on a Hess truck.
Chelsea says November 26, 2017 at 4:58 PM We go out as a family to cut down our tree together! We visit Santa (and his reindeer) even though my 2.5 year old is super skeptical of Santa! He loves the reindeer! We plan to go Christmas shopping together one day this year so he can pick out gifts for his grandparents! We buy one new ornament per year for the tree. We celebrate Christmas Eve with our extended family. Lots of food, drinks and presents! Christmas is always a full day of family visits and going to all of the grandparents houses. But we always start our morning with a family breakfast! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
MonicaCastro says November 26, 2017 at 5:11 PM First year our little one is old enough to participate in Christmas traditions, so we all went outside to help daddy put up lights and will def be leaving milk and cookies out for Santa!
suzie says November 26, 2017 at 6:35 PM We go to our town’s tree lighting the same day we put up our own tree….Our children sing in the chorus at the tree lighting with fireworks and cocoa. Truly magical.
Sarah S. says November 26, 2017 at 6:50 PM Growing up, my parents gifted my siblings and me a new game or movie that we would all watch/play together that night as well as a pair of Christmas pajamas for everyone. I hope to do this with my family one day!
Bethany says November 26, 2017 at 8:57 PM Love reading about other people’s Christmas traditions! We do jammy cocoa Christmas (go to a coffee shop for drinks and treats in our jammies and then drive around looking at lights). We also let my son pick out a new ornament each year. And we go shopping together for Operation Christmas Child 🙂
Joely says November 26, 2017 at 9:33 PM Everything thanksgiving my moms puts an ornament on everyone’s place setting so that we all have a new one for that years decorating. We also always decorate a gingerbread house!
Rachel says November 26, 2017 at 9:35 PM My favorite tradition is walking through our local light show! It’s usually a drive in your car thing but one night a season they open it up for walkers and it’s so fun to see everything up close, take our time, and get lots of photos!
Krista says November 26, 2017 at 10:07 PM Each year we have a family photo taken for the Christmas card, but I make sure to have individuals taken of each of my kiddos. I take those pictures and have them made into ornaments with the year and then on the back I put what they ask Santa for. It’s so precious to see what they are interested in each year and the picture helps us watch them growing up. Love to hang these up each year and remember.
Araceli covarrubias says November 26, 2017 at 10:15 PM Everything that your family does sounds Amazing I have 2 lil ones and they are super excited to see what santa will bring them this Christmasmy son loves minions & my daughter minnie mouse???? i love spending Christmas with my family have dinner and we open presents on Christmas eve????❤ my husband knows im addicted to coffee i think he might get me a coffee☕ machine for Christmas fingers crossed lol Happy Holidays from my family to urs❤& god bless ur Beautiful heart.
Rachel says November 26, 2017 at 11:18 PM Growing up we would “pixie” a family from church or a neighbor or someone we knew who was having a hard year. We’d make holiday treats and drop them off on their doorstep with a holiday card. The goal was not to get caught, so we’d place the cookies/treats on the doormat and then ring the door bell and run. We did it a couple of times throughout the month of December and loved it! It really helped our family focus on giving to others instead of being focused on what we’d be getting.
Kristen says November 26, 2017 at 11:46 PM Attending the candle light ceremony on Christmas Eve at church is one of my favorite family traditions.
Emily G says November 26, 2017 at 11:48 PM MY fiancée and I are excited to start our own Christmas traditions and we love getting each other an ornament for our tree each year!
Penny Berend says November 26, 2017 at 11:56 PM Love getting new fun ideas to incorporate into our family traditions! As a young child my family traditions were cutting down our own Christmas Tree, attending community events where we baked Christmas Cookies with Mrs. Clause, decorated an ornament, etc. and my mom always hosted a GingerBread House Party for my friends. Now as a mother of 4 young ones. We start out Thanksgiving weekend decorating the house for Christmas. We start the morning off with hot cocoa, whip cream, and sprinkles, kiddos get to dress in their Christmas shirts, we bake Christmas cookies to snack on throughout the day as well as have the Christmas movies running non stop. We shop for a nutcracker which goes on our mantel each year and as soon as the kids are old enough we will do this before heading to the nutcracker ballet. My sister and her son make shrink a dink ornaments each year based on whatever he is currently into. We are starting this tradition this year and each of the kids mini ornaments will go on their own little tree. I love the Salvation Army Change idea!
Laurel says November 27, 2017 at 1:56 AM Our favorite tradition is watching at least 1-2 Christmas “classic” movies each week that leads up to Christmas. We kick off “movie night” the day we put up our tree (usually right after Thanksgiving). It’s so fun, and really gets us in the Christmas spirit.
Donna says November 27, 2017 at 6:27 AM My mom and I take my daughter to high tea right before Christmas. It has become a really fun tradition. We’re trying a new place this year. Also, my daughter LOVES the Nutcracker, so we’ll check out her dance studio’s performance. Next year, I think I’ll take her to a fancy ballet company version.
Amber Swisher says November 27, 2017 at 6:46 AM We love picking out a new ornament each year & hanging it on the tree! We also love baking sugar cookies every Christmas Eve for Santa!
Amanda J says November 27, 2017 at 8:43 AM We always bake Christmas cookies, watch White Christmas!! We ask aways go as a family to the tree farm and cut down our tree, so much fun!! Love Christmastime so much!!
Courtney says November 27, 2017 at 8:47 AM My Husband has a large family with an amazing family tradition. Each year all the little cousins gather in grandmas room to listen to the oldest Cousin read “the night before Christmas” all the little kids squeal when they look out the window and see a red light in the sky (usually a plane ;-)) during the reading one of the uncles dresses as Santa and then gives the kids presents. They’ve had the same tradition for over 60 years and it’s so special! Last year my Husband was Santa (a very tall one- he’s 6’5). He and I still laugh about how small the family Santa costume looked on him- great memories!
Christina says November 27, 2017 at 9:34 AM This is such a fun post! Your girls are so adorable. I love finding new brands with well-made clothes. And I love your idea for the comments section. It’s so fun reading everyone’s traditions. Like a few other people, we also do an ornament exchange. Every Christmas Eve my husband and will exchange an ornament. We always buy one that symbolizes the other person or is a joke or something representing the year. I make sure to always write the date on them. It makes decorating the tree more and more exciting every year because it’s like we can do a little time travel through our memories. Gosh, I love this time of year so much!
Katie says November 27, 2017 at 11:10 AM Love your list of traditions! This is my first year with a little one (born Nov. 9!), and I’m excited to start some traditions with her…not that she’ll remember them yet. One is to buy a tree for her room when they’re on sale after Christmas this year and each year pick out/let her pick out one ornament each year to add to her tree. When she’s older, she’ll already have a special collection going! These outfits are too darling!
Julie Stanley says November 27, 2017 at 11:58 AM Every year we see Santa and the girls get a new matching or coordinating outfit to wear. I let them help pick it out. Several years ago I picked up a balsa wood advent calendar with little drawers you fill up each year and I hand painted it. Every year I stock it with treats for each day. My husband has his own tradition that we will eat cinnamon rolls and doughnuts and drink hot choclate while we open gifts on Xmas morning. He actually gets up early and makes everything so that we can enjoy it together. Melts my heart every year! We go to Zoo lights and pick up dinner to eat a picnic before going in. Fun to bundle up and see the zoo all in lights. I like to pick a charity to buy gifts for and donate them. It differs each year, but I have done it with my family since I was a kid. We used to shop super early on Black Friday to find the best deals for our ‘family’. It was the most amazing thing to do together. I like to do holiday cards and I hand stamp each return address and deal with a stamp or sticker to make it special. We watch all the holiday Charlie Brown movies with the kids. We do ‘Friday family movie night’ each week. We will also watch Elf and I love The Family Stone. Little women has been a tradition in the past too.
Emily M says November 27, 2017 at 12:29 PM We watch A Muppet Christmas Carol. Can’t wait to start new traditions with our baby girl!
Gwyn says November 27, 2017 at 10:48 PM We start the season off with the tree lighting parade in our town with my sister and her family. We drive around to see lights with my mom several nights. We watch Elf & Home Alone. We have a cookie baking night with my in-laws…so many fun memories! Love your ideas of always having cash so that your kids can learn to give during this season and your date night to buy presents!
