Mommy and Me Galentine’s Day Party! February 1, 2019 | Oh how I love today’s post! We partnered with essie and ShopStyle to celebrate their fab new essie’s fab new Valentine’s Day collection at Target—and we had a blast doing it! I try to plan intentional one on one time with each of my girls and this week I surprised Landry with a full on Mommy and Me Galentine’s Day party when she got home from school on a random day—one of our very best memories in a while 🙂 One of our absolute favorite things to do together is to go get manis and pedis. We usually sneak out during Lawson’s naptime on Saturdays and Landry’s sweet little face just lights up when I suggest it. She loves having her nails and toes painted and I love that it’s something that we can both do together. When I saw this Valentines Day line from essie (available at Target) I knew an at home manicure session would certainly be a part of our Galentines Day celebrations! When she got home from school and saw the party set up, she welled up with tears of excitement (cue me crying at the sight of that)! She was so excited to have some 1-1 time together and couldn’t believe that I had this whole surprise planned out. It’s funny how the little things (and a few decorations from the Target $1 section) can really mean so much to their little hearts. First up we decided to paint each others nails! She could not get over how fun and girly the essie Valentine’s Day Collection was—think pinks, reds, shimmers, and sparkles. We both had a hard time deciding on which colors to layer up because they are all so pretty. Here are the combinations that we decided on: Landry: Crush and blush + You’re so cupid Me: Crush and blush + Galentine “A daughter is just a little girl who grows up to be your best friend…” Looking at this photo of her little chubby hands just melts me. Babies just don’t keep…. Then we turned the tables and let Landry paint my nails! It was the first time that she attempted it and she did pretty dang good. It was so so sweet to watch her concentrate on each stroke and try to get it just so. I loved the way my nails turned out and loved being with her even more. All ready for Galentine’s Day with my best gal! After our nails dried we had some yummy snacks and made Valentine’s Day cards for Daddy and Lawson and then filled out cards for her class. It was such a fun afternoon with this sweetheart and I’m so so glad that I got her all to myself for an afternoon! Thank you so much to essie and Shopstyle for sponsoring this content. All ideas, photography and creative remain my own and I really appreciate you supporting brands who make Style Your Senses possible!
