One Room Challenge: Master Bedroom | Week Four October 28, 2015 | …aaaaand here we are again. Week 4 of Linda’s One Room Challenge and things are full.steam.ahead. Like I mentioned last week, the challenge is a 6 week blog program where we make over an entire room in our homes…the catch is that we really only have around 5 weeks to get everything complete and photographed…so let the 7 day countdown begin! Catch up here: Week One | Read about my plans Week Two | Read about my paint dilemma Week Three | Lamps + Mirror Deets I made up for my lack of productivity (see last week’s post), with a week of crossing things off of the punch list! Whohooo! Here are the highlights + read about an incredible source that I’ve found to get major elements for the room on a small budget, all without sacrificing style! First, let’s chat paint color. The truth is that I am normally VERY low maintenance with paint colors. Putting 100 swatches on the wall and standing back to debate on the perfect shade is just not my jam. This go-round, though, I did have more of a more specific idea of color in mind, especially since the bedding was already in place. I got a total of 8 samples and lost sleep over the perfect shade of powdery blue. Never again, friends. Never again. I did end up choosing “Balmy” by Sherwin Williams reduced to 65% (really, who am I?!). I like it just fine. Yes, this says 75%, but I decided for the final color that we would go down a bit more to 65%. Here’s how it looks on the walls… The pic above pretty much sums up what I want to chat about next…. At Home. If you follow along on Instagram, you know that I frequent At Home often and am always blown away by their increasingly stylish assortment. At Home used to be Garden Ridge and likely wasn’t the first place you thought to run to when you wanted modern and on trend home decor. In fact, if you are like me, you hadn’t been in to a Garden Ridge is quite some time. About a year ago they re-branded from Garden Ridge to At Home with a mission to be the superstore for affordable and stylish home decor….and let me tell you they are well on their way there in my book! All three of the pieces in the above photo are from At Home and they were all beyond affordable. The french wing king headboard is seriously dreamy and at under $400, really reminds me of THIS ONE at over $2000! I got the oversized gold bamboo mirrors on clearance for $100 each (!!!) ….and, well, I could have paid $800 for THIS ONE that’s nearly identical. #nothanks! Last week I scored these decorative horns on block bases. I love them intertwined together and as part of a vignette. I can’t decide if I am going to paint them or leave them as is, but I absolutely adore them regardless. At $20 each, not even Target can beat it with THEIR VERSION at over $80! Lastly, if you follow along on Insta, you’ve already gotten a sneak peek of this insane fluff+acrylic bench that I scored from At Home for in front of the bed. Y’all. So. Good! Can you even? $250! Here’s the updated punch list: New bedding…ivory, piping and monograms New headboard…something with some structure New nightstands…I really like the ones we have already, but found even better ones! New Lamps…adding some glam here New mirrors for over the night stands…If you hunt back on Instagram you’ll get a sneak peek of these Art above the bed….Secured this and am DYING! Check my girl Miles out HERE! New Chandelier…one shown in the board is the one I’m using. McDreamy. CAN’T WAIT TO CHAT ABOUT THIS NEXT WEEK! Paint the room…Sherwin Williams Balmy @ 65% Sell tallboy dresser and come up with a replacement piece…Might even make my husband the happiest man alive an plan for a flat screen there. We currently don’t have a TV in our room…what are your thoughts? <—major surprise here! Look for a sneak on Instagram! Benches for front of the bed? Long Mirror? You’ll like this one! Carpet? Drapes? Hardware? Want to watch me figure out how I’m going to get this done on a daily basis??? Follow along on Instagram for fun deliveries and progress Follow along on Snapchat (@styleyoursenses) for real time craziness. Videos, mishaps, etc…you know the fun stuff. Naomi@DesignManifest says October 29, 2015 at 3:15 AM Holy cute bench! Love those horns too. It’s coming together nicely. And I see nothing with 65%. Sometimes 75 is just too much 😉
