LIEBSTER AWARD!! July 9, 2013 | Big thanks to House Envy for nominating Charming in Charlotte for a Liebster Award! Yahoo! I am truly flattered! This blog started off as a way for our friends and family to follow along with and keep in touch with us as we made our cross country move to Charlotte, NC. Since then, it has turned into SO much more. It is not only a way for the ones we love most to follow along with us and watch our sweet little LK grow up (way too fast), but it has also become a way to be introduced to amazing “blog friends.” This blog is my little piece of creative, my escape during naptime, my late night relaxation after a long day…and to know that other people find it interesting and exciting is just the icing on the cake for me! Hope that you enjoy some fun and interesting facts about me ((and for those of you who know me all too well, you should get a good giggle)). How it works: So this Liebster Award is an award that new bloggers give out to other new bloggers to sort of share the love and maybe share some readers. Tell them that they have been nominated 5. Create a list of 11 questions for the nominees to answer Questions posed to me: 1.) What’s your favorite project you have shared? My favorite project thus far was my sweet girls nursery. I put my heart and soul into every detail and feel like it turned out to be the perfect space for her. 2.) Whats on your wish list to redo in your home? Well, lets just say our current home is farrr from my dream home, but it works for us now. I would love to re-configure the kitchen though…it bugs. 3.) If you could meet one person who would it be? Man that’s tough…Coco Chanel would have to top the list… I am enamoured with her and how she completely transformed women’s fashion. 4.) What is your top product endorsement, be it beauty, home or otherwise? L’OREAL Original Voluminous Mascara…hands down. Best mascara out there and a steal at $7…I never leave home without it. 5.) What is your favorite motto? “A girl should be two things: classy & fabulous” 6.) How would your closest friends describe you? An open book. Goofy. Dramatic. Loyal. Creative. 7.) Whats your vice and how many times have you tried to quit? Diet Coke. daily. 8.) Name a time you laughed the hardest. Just turn on America’s Funniest Home Videos and I’m dying. I have a serious problem at laughing at the expense of others. 9.) Name one of your design secrets? Think outside of the box, look for unexpected inspiration and let your spaces be a reflection of yourself…you will ultimately be happier in them for that reason. 10.) What would you never try and why? Anything that has to do with extreme heights…i’m terrified! 11.) Name one thing that you can’t stand no matter what!? Smacking. OMG. I will take that gum right out of your mouth… 11 Facts about myself: 1. My socks never ever match. EVER. The task of keeping up with all of the matches bores me so I’m cool with mis-matching. If you see me at the gym…now you know. 2. Don’t talk to me before my morning coffee, please and thank you. 3. I absolutely have a craving for travel and want to see so many places in this amazing world. 4. Being a mom has completely changed my life in the best way possible. To know what perfect, self-sacrificing love is is a gift beyond measure. 5. I have a sweet tooth like none other. Cookies, brownies, ice cream, swedish fish….I don’t really discriminate. 6. Being creative makes me feel alive. I must do something creative with my hands each day. 7. I am a serious bargain hunter. I like to dig and find little diamonds in the rough to rescue. 8. Running (while listening to inappropriate rap music) is my therapy. If you think that i’m smiling at my baby while jogging (it might be true, but she usually sleeps right away), its actually probably because an old school Ludacris song came on that completely made my day…sigh. 9. I lose my phone about 200 times a day. 10. I’m addicted to Chick-fil-a. There, I said it. You happy now?! 11. My sweet and handsome husband, gorgeous daughter, and absolutely amazing friends and family are what make my world go ’round. They challenge me to be better, uplift me when I’m down, and most importantly, fill my world with laughter…which is what I live for… Questions Posed: 1. Most unlikely source of inspiration as of late? 2. Favorite “Design on a Dime” source…whether it be fashion or decor? 3. Are you a morning person or night owl? 4. If you could be anywhere in the world right now where would you be? 5. Embarrassing reality show you can’t help but watch? 6. Favorite project that you’ve recently completed? 7. Splurge worthy…designer shoes? or designer bags? 8. Favorite beauty product of all times? 9. From the above, its clear that my vices are Diet Coke and Chick-fil-a…do you have any? 10.
