Laundry Room Re-do August 29, 2013 | Let me just tell you a little bit about our housing situation. As most of you know, we moved across the country to CLT when I was 6 months prego and already in full-blown nesting mode. There was no “time” to find the “perfect” house. So we settled. Kinda. It’s surely not a dream house….not even in the same universe…but we did get more sq/footage, taller ceilings, more bathrooms, an awesome backyard and new-er pretty much everything. So we are dealing just fine for the time being. Here’s the catch…we know for sure that we won’t be in this particular house for long and one of the selling points is the neutral color palate throughout. Seriously ya’ll, the entire house is a shade of beige. But it’s very open so every room flows into the other and there are no real good “stopping points” should I want to spice things up with some paint/wallpaper. :::Secretly, the hubs loves this keeping me at bay::: BUT I can get my hands on smaller spaces like the laundry room. It’s beige. And boring. And as of late I find myself spending a whooole lotta time in there. Removing baby poop stains, removing baby food stains, hand washing baby clothes, hang drying tiny baby clothes and just plain washing more loads of baby clothes than should be allowed by law. So, if I’m going to spend so much time in there it’s got to be prettier and I think that it’s the perfect space to indulge in my craving for navy blue paint. You agree, right? I definitely need pretty but I also desperately need storage and organization solutions because it’s not the biggest room and really needs to serve lots-o-purposes. Here’s the inspiration…what do we think? I am seriously hoping to tackle this project over the Labor Day weekend…surprise, babe! You’re in right? OK, awesome! So I should have an update here soon!
