Master Bedroom Upgrades with Frette Bedding October 26, 2018 | I can’t remember exactly when it happened, but somewhere along the way of decorating three homes, I fell head over heels in love with luxury linens. With more of a “bed in a bag” budget, I would imagine mixing beautiful linens to create my dream bed and think about what colors and pillow combinations I would choose to curate the master bedroom of my dreams. After deciding that our master bed was looking really tired lately, I decided to take the plunge on a few luxury pieces to mix into our current bedding and I could not be happier with the result. A little bit went a long way in our case and I was pleasantly surprised to find such a broad selection of luxury linens all in one place at Bloomingdales.com! Here’s how the updated bedding looks in our new space: Master Bedroom Upgrades with Frette Bedding: We redid our bedroom back in 2015 as part of the One Room Challenge and I can proudly say that I still love every single detail of it. I tried to choose calming colors and timeless pieces and so far so good 3 years later…which is quite a milestone for me. Lucky for us, the bedroom suite from Charlotte fit perfectly into our new home in Dallas and it was awesome to have one semi-finished room from the beginning. One thing that did bug me about the space was the bedding, specifically the pillows. They were looking tired and out of shape and I realized that I had owned some of them since before we were married (9+ years ago)! As I began to think about what I wanted for an update, I planned out the ideal arrangement in my head, which involved more fullness and structure. I realized that the shams I had on our bed weren’t even the right size (Queen sized vs King, so they didn’t even cover the width of the bed), which was a big part of the problem. For the size of our bed, I also thought that it could stand another layer of Euro pillows at a slightly higher height, and it made all of the difference. When thinking about newness, I knew that I wanted to try and incorporate some higher quality pillows to elevate the look of our bedding. Knowing that I couldn’t afford an entirely new bedding suite, I opted to work on the pillows first and choose a classic color to invest in, knowing I can build upon them in the coming years. I fell in love with this Deco Fan set from Frette Bedding, I loved that I could order my sizes a la carte via Bloomingdales! I ended up going with three euro shams in the Deco Fan border and two king shams also in the Deco fan. The thick bluish green border really makes them stand out and gives the clean, structural lines that I was looking for. They also add height and width to the bed, making the scale much better for the room. *One small tip that I have for creating a pillow arrangement with height and depth is to start by laying the pillows that you sleep on down flat first thing when beginning to make the bed. Then place the euros that are against the bed on top of the flat pillows, thus giving the euros more height and creating a staggered effect. It’s a simple trick but the layered look really does add interest and depth. Shop Euro Shams HERE | Shop King Shams HERE I opted for less expensive trend euros to fill the middle spot, knowing that I can then switch them up should I want a different look, whereas the luxury shams serve as a timeless anchor for the bedding. The rest of our bedding includes an inexpensive coverlet, existing duvet and lightweight throw blanket. I was so excited to mix the high and low aspects and am really happy with how the Frette Bedding pieces of my dreams really pulled our bed together and took it to the next level. p.s. check out these beautiful details. The Deco Fan collection from Frette Bedding is made from 490 thread count cotton sateen jacquard. The hand is amazing and they hold their shape wonderfully, while giving a slight sheen.
