His + Hers Athleisure with Athleta and Hill City June 7, 2019 | *This post is sponsored by Athleta, Hill City, and ShopStyle. It’s no secret that I love active and athleisure wear and a post about what I’ve been wearing lately was LONG overdue. I adore Athleta and was THRILLED to partner with them and also show off Hill City—an amazing men’s athleisure brand. Dan is joining us today and I’m sharing 10 things that you may not know about each of us + some awesome weekend outfits for you and your guy. I absolutely loved working on this post— I hope that you enjoy it. Dan’s Shirt | Dan’s Shorts | Dan’s Hat // My Top | My Sports Bra | My Skirt When it comes to weekend-ing you can find both me and Dan in athleisure wear. It’s what we start Saturday’s off with and it usually carries us through a busy day of running around and being active with the girls, weekend errands, house projects and keeps us comfy when it’s finally time for afternoon naps. To be honest, it’s what I’m most comfortable in and I’m so thankful for brands like Athleta that make athleisure clothes that I can also feel CONFIDENT in. I love to feel polished and put together, even in activewear and I think that it truly sets the tone for the day. If I’m in running shorts from college and an oversized t-shirt I can guarantee you that I don’t feel my best. I’m loving skirts lately. The trend feels fun and fresh and they are super comfortable and breathable for Summer. I love the idea of wearing a skirt for athleisure and this one from Athleta did NOT disappoint. It’s a lightweight performance knit that has the look for twill, meaning that it’s stretchy and breathable, but not sheer and super well made. It comes in multiple colors HERE and is a mom style MUST have. I loved it with a sports bra and an athletic top, but you could also easily pair it with a graphic tee or a tank and flip flops. Athleta has such an amazing selection of tops, from high intensity, to yoga and athleisure. They’re a one stop shop for sure! Don’t believe me? Check out all of their tops HERE, even sorted by color! I chose this mesh trim neck muscle cut top that ties at the waist because it’s super versatile! Wear it untied with high waisted leggings (see these cuties from Athleta) or with a cute athletic skirt or shorts. I love wearing white tops in the Summer, they look great with a Summer tan and are also pretty functional to keep you a touch cooler in the Summer heat. Dan’s Shirt | Dan’s Shorts | Dan’s Hat // My Top | My Sports Bra | My Skirt Hill City is a new brand under the Gap umbrella and they specialize in high-performance gear for all guys, doing all things. They are breaking the mold of what high performance means and bringing functional high performance pieces to all guys—regardless of what you’re doing, what phase of life you’re in or where you’re going—they have pieces that will keep you comfortable and ready to tackle the day. Just like me, Dan likes to feel somewhat polished in athleisure wear and Hill City delivered big time. His favorite thing was the performance shorts and I loved the way that they fit as well. They are made from water repellant Nylon and are stretchy when you need and breathable always. They function for weekend shorts, golf shorts and work SO well for travel. Dan is tall and really appreciated the 8” inseam on these. He’s already asking for another pair. See all of the colors that they are available in HERE. I also got him the Everyday Supima Tee and it’s made from all 100% US grown Supima cotton and has an amazing hand to it. It’s breathable, trim fit and comes in a ton of great colors for guys. This will absolutely be on his go-to list. Since these would make amazing Father’s Day Gifts, Hill City is offering free 2-3 day shipping on all orders over $100 until Father’s Day. 10 Things That You Might Not Know About Me: I have an insatiable sweet tooth. It’s SO bad! It’s something that I really have to work on because I could eat sweets for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I have the job of an extreme extrovert, but as I get older, I really have the personality of an introvert. In large groups of unfamiliar people, I’m definitely not going to strike up conversation with a stranger. I’m more of an observer in most situations, but I think sometimes it comes off as rude unintentionally. I graduated high school with only 52 people and I’m from a very small town in Louisiana. The thought of eating a coconut flake makes me gag, but I only drink coconut milk. I love music and at any given time can be listening to country, rap or worship music. I’m a mixed bag for sure. I honestly cannot think of another job that I’d rather be doing than what I’m doing now. This is truly my DREAM JOB and I’m so grateful. I’m so clumsy and can actually trip over my own two feet at any given moment. My Starbucks order is a Grande Coconut Milk Latte (hot or cold). I love getting dressed up but am most confident in my best jeans and tee. I’m terrified of heights. Even when I was there, I refused to go to the top of the Sears Tower, Eiffel Tower, and Empire State Building. Nope. 10 Things That You Might Not Know About Dan: He LOVES music and also plays the guitar. He was born and raised in Illinois (outside of StL and moved here after college) He actually has decent dance moves. He’s been to China twice. He loves pizza but cannot stand the sight of a mushroom He’s seen just about every movie of all time. Important to note that I don’t really love movies and haven’t seen even a handful of the classics. He’s always worked in Sports and he watches all sports. I think that sports (aside from college football) are about as exciting to watch and looking for paint to dry. He’s terrible with directions, yet I still rather he drives. He has 100x more patience than I do. People love him, truly he’s such a people person and could find common ground with ANYone.
