The Friday Edit July 1, 2016 | Whohooo today is Friday and it also means a long weekend ahead with July 4th! I get so giddy about Holidays and love having the hubs home for an extra day. We decided not to go to the beach this year (because we are awful planners) and, while I’m a little bummed, I’m looking forward to some family time and lots of pool time! What are your plans? Any good recipes I should try? When I relax, I always want to cook big, yummy meals for my family… SUCH an exciting week on Style Your Senses…here’s the recap! Top Post: Tips on Packing for a Long Trip! This was probably one of the most viewed posts in quite some time now and I’m SO glad that you guys liked it. It a bit out of my comfort zone (giving people advice when you’re not necessarily and “expert” in that field isn’t always easy), but you guys were very receptive to it and pinned it to refer back to. That makes me SO happy. Like I mentioned on Instagram, aside from my monogrammed duffle, you guys were most interested in what’s in my beauty bag and what bras I packed…lol. I’m going to do full posts on both topics later, but the links to all of my favorites are already in the travel post HERE. SO many of you emailed me specifically about this roller pictured in the beauty bag shot. I’ve been planning to share a more in depth post about it, but have been taking my sweet time to make sure that I love it before recommending it. So it’s a micro-needler…a roller full of really tiny and fairly sharp needles. You roll it over the skin (I use it on my forehead for fine lines and cheeks for acne scars) and it essentially injures your skin forcing it to regenerate and repair itself. This sounds brutal but I promise it’s not. I look at it as aerating your skin like you would your lawn before planting grass. After using the roller, then I apply my anti-aging cream and moisturizer. I truly 100% notice a difference from using it and would absolutely recommend every woman use it at least 1-2x a week. I use mine 3-4x a week now. I bought THIS ONE, but there are all different levels of them. This one is on the cheaper side, but it definitely does the job. There was also a big Instagram Roundup from the second half of June and THIS DRESS was definitely the most popular item. It’s an easy fit, great to wear day or night and really fun to accessorize…oh and under $50! Dress Lastly, this little July 4th #ootd snuck in on Thursday and you guys like these cactus shorts as much as I do…whimsy and fun and full of color! Also, the off the shoulder top is one that I’ve been wearing for 2 seasons now and they just brought it back in stock! Turn on your JavaScript to view content Instagram: Well, I’d have to say that the MAJOR highlight this week was being given the opportunity to take over the @liketoknow.it handle (don’t worry they just have nearly 2 MILLION followers) with some fellow Charlotte blogger babes. It was so much fun showing everyone around the QC! In case you missed it, here were my posts: I really couldn’t tell you which piece out of this outfit I like best! This red cold shoulder top is amazing and flattering and $58 and the stripe maxi is just wow with color. Both are statement pieces that can be worn so many different ways! Turn on your JavaScript to view content The stripe top went on sale the day I posted this and is marked down to $21!!! Still some sizes…shop HERE! I used almond milk and it worked well, so they can easily be dairy free. Obsessing over this piece by Juniper Briggs…all of her work is amazing! Well, this dress is freaking adorable….
