Fitting Room Files: Nordstrom Summer Tees + Tops | SHOPBOP SALE June 14, 2017 | Mornin’ Friends! I was in Nordstrom on Monday and since baby Lawson was sacked out in her stroller I thought that I would do a quick fit review for you guys. Also, there’s some MAJOR Shopbop sales news below as well. P.S. THANKS for the ah-maz-ing response to last week’s initial Fitting Room Files post! I’m so excited to out these together for you! At Nordstrom I decided to focus on tees and tops because that’s what I was actually shopping for myself. For starters I’m nowhere near my size in jeans and shorts, so I’ve mostly steered clear of buying anything new in those departments and I’ve also just found myself gravitating towards wearing comfy tees and tops as the weather warms. Here were my favorites… Fit Info: I’m 5’9 | 155lbs | normally a size M in tops This little embroidered top caught my eye from a mile away. I love the blue on blue combo and the little peplum hem. The embroidery goes all of the way around and it’s an awesome price. Style it with white jeans or shorts and your favorite espadrille! Cute option for July 4th, too! I’m wearing a size M and felt it ran TTS. You will need a lightweight cami underneath. Embroidered Peplum Hem Top $59 (Also comes in white) | THIS is also another darling embroidered option by the same brand that they didn’t have at my store. This top came home with me! It’s a super super lightweight and thin sweatshirt like material. The fit is really relaxed and even drapes off the shoulder for a cool, laid back look. It comes in 4 other colors and I’m 99% sure I’ll have to have the grey too. I’m wearing a size M and it’s definitely a loose fit. I could have probably sized down to a SM, but I like the room. You will need a lightweight cami underneath. White Slouchy Baby doll Tee $48 in 3 other colors This was the other top that also came home with me on Monday. I’m a total sucker for a good baseball tee and scooped this one up the minute I saw it. It’s really really lightweight and sort of a burnt out material, making it extra soft. It’s a relaxed boyfriend fit and perfect for denim shorts and cool sneakers or sandals. I’m wearing a M and feel like it runs TTS. Slouchy Baseball Tee $55 (also in coral) This chambray peplum could be so versatile in your closet. It’s a bit of a cropped length and looks darling on. Wear it with higher waisted white jeans, white denim shorts, or a great high waisted skirt. It’s a darling fit but felt it ran a tad bit small…I’m wearing a M here. Chambray Peplum Tank White Jeans This stripe swing top was definitely a contender to come home with me, but I thought that I should probably take a little hiatus from blue and white stripes. It’s a darling loose fit with pleating at each side. This exact print isn’t online yet, but I found the same top is a more narrow strip below. Stripe Swing Top $59.50 | The cutest tie back stripe top from the same brand…added this to my cart! I posted this top in last week’s Friday Edit, so I was excited to try it on. Sadly, I didn’t really like the fit at all. There was SO much fabric that it was really overwhelming…and that’s hard to do on someone with a 5’9 frame. Even by sizing down I think that it would still be too much. Bummer because I do love the print. Metallic Blooms Top Another favorite from the day and the only reason that I didn’t buy this one is because it wasn’t super nursing friendly. This little eyelet shell is so so darn cute though and fits amazing. The cutouts give it great texture and the peplum adds dimension. I can see this being a really versatile top in your closet. I’m wearing a M here and thought that it was TTS. White Eyelet Tank $59 in 4 colors This double V tank is a good basic to have on hand. It’s really lightweight, a great price and is good to layer with. In the Summer, I’d style it with a lace bralette and some great distressed denim. Double V Neck Swing Cami $22 in 4 colors | Dark Wash Skinnies Mamas this is a winner! The faux knot of this otherwise basic tee adds some interest and also adds some great shape around the waist. Such a good piece to have on hand to pair back to nearly any bottom. I’m wearing a M and thought that it ran TTS. (Faux) Knot Front Tee $29 in tons of colors | Dark Wash Skinnies Another great basic! This raw edge tee was slouchy and soft and perfect for lounging or running around in. It comes in a ton of colors and is worth trying out! I’m wearing a M and thought that it ran TTS. Raw Edge Tee $17 in a ton of colors | Dark Wash Skinnies Which top was your favorite??? Speaking of Nordstrom, remember that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017 is only 4 weeks away. andrea graham says June 14, 2017 at 8:51 AM Hi! Love love your fitting room files and it’s super helpful especially for this post partum mama. Question… I am trying desperately to hold off on buying new shorts bc of the post partum body but am in desperate need of a new pair of denim cutoffs. Any recommendation and the ones you typically wear do you mind sharing the brand and size/fit? We are very similar in size and weight.
Style Your Senses says June 16, 2017 at 9:57 PM Hey Andrea! I’ve had really good luck at Old Navy and LOFT. Last week’s LOFT review had some good ones in it…I just size up one 🙂
Meg says June 14, 2017 at 9:42 AM Do you have a favorite nude Cami? I am currently nursing and looking for something that offers a little support or maybe some padding for shape? Also looking for a cute bralette. Thanks!
Style Your Senses says June 16, 2017 at 9:58 PM Doing an entire post on this next week but all things nursing I’m loving Bravado! Have their cami on as I type this and I don’t even have to wear a bra with it!
