Cruise Update + Instagram Round Up! November 18, 2015 | Hola from Mexico!! What a crazy week it’s been….first how did I even end up on a Cruise with THE PROPERTY BROTHERS?!?!?! Surely it had to have been some sort of clerical error…but I’m certainly not telling anyone! We are having a total blast and it’s so much fun to be surrounded by an entire cruise ship full of design lovers…the cruise completely sold out…over 2,000 people on this mug, y’all! Yesterday was our first design panel where 3 of us bloggers broke out and presented our home tours and a few personal tips and tricks to a lovely crowd of guests. I was actually a little shocked panicked that ANYone showed up…but they did and they were so sweet and gracious. After that, we were ushered in to a private sit down with the brothers Drew and Jonathan where we were given free range to ask them WHATEVER we want! Here are a few of my favorites… Q: Do any of the home owners end up HATING the design? A: No. They haven’t had anyone upset or angry at a final reveal, but they did say that a few of the homeowners can be quite “challenging” through the process. i.e. sneaking into their homes before reveal days, not trusting design decisions, refusing to part with ugly things, etc. Yikes… Q: How do you REALLY renovate an entire home on such small budgets? A: You don’t. They explained that through the budget given on TV, they only reno about 3-4 rooms and are able to make the dollar stretch very far by not charging for their time and also passing along any savings (i.e free stuff) to the homeowner. How great?! Q: How do you manage all of these renovations at once?? A: They set up camp in one city for about 3 months and are usually working on 9-10 homes in that city during the 3 month period. They bounce from project to project overseeing the big details and then leave the rest to their teams. Q: Are you guys ever home? A: NO! They only make it home about 3 weeks out of the year (WOW!). Jonathan brings his two dogs almost everywhere with him (ladies, this guy needs a date…any takers???) and Drew’s girlfriend works as part of the crew, so they are able to travel together. …fun, right? They were so gracious to sit down and answer all of these burning questions for us and then the whole thing turned in to selfie city. They are such characters…I can’t wait to show you more pics! Keep checking INSTAGRAM for more current updates! Speaking of Insta, I put together a round up of my favorite November posts, in case you missed any thus far. Is it just me or am I not seeing everyone I follow come through my feed? A few people have emailed lately wondering why they are missing things and, well, your guess is as good as mine. I’m going to to these round ups more frequently to keep everyone updated before things sell out. -xo Makeup Essentials: Eyebrow Contour Pencil (game changer) | Best Concealer Ever | Contour Brush | Mineral Bronzer | Contour Palette (game changer) | Airbrush Blending Brush | Lips Chambray Top | Leather Skirt | Bag | Necklace Top | Similar Shoes | Tights The perfect red lip with just a hint of pink for the Holidays. Michelle says November 23, 2015 at 9:26 AM How does that Target tunic fit? I like a generous sized tunic, but sometimes find they can be tight in the shoulders and arms. Loved your funky sneaks!!!
Style Your Senses says November 29, 2015 at 9:06 PM Hi Michelle! It’s a very generous fit, I actually recommend sizing down. xoxo
