Color Trend to Try: Rust August 26, 2019 | Today I’m partnering with Nordstrom and Shopstyle to talk about one of the Fall trends that I’m most excited about and it’s wearing shades of Rust. Whether more orange or more red, all tones of Rust are trending in a major way right now. Admittedly, I was a little hesitant at first because Rust really hasn’t been a color that I’ve worn much, but the more I’ve styled it the more obsessed I’ve become. Today I’ve styled it both casually and then for the workplace. I’m also showing you a few of my favorite colors and accessories to pair back to Rust to really make it pop. Nordstrom has such an amazing selection of all things Rust hued (take a small peep HERE), and I’m listing some of my favorites at the bottom of this post! Color Trend to Try | Rust First up is this super cute and casual tiered midi dress! It’s lightweight with a cotton bodice and then layered gauze ruffles at bottom. It’s a wonderful transition pieces because it’s breathable enough to wear now, but also really layers well through Fall. I added some funky sneakers for a casual look, but you could also do mules or booties. It comes in a ton of colors, too! See them all HERE. Tiered Dress (S, but recommend sizing down) | Denim Jacket (S, TTS) | Similar Turquoise Necklace | Mid Top Sneakers | Sunnies | Huggie Earrings | Watch An unexpected color combination that I didn’t think I’d love as much as I do is Rust and tones of blue! I love pairing rust hues with denim and/or turquoise and really like the contrast of the colors. It feels like a fun and fresh Fall palette. ps: This denim jacket (the one that I wear ALL OF THE TIME) is on sale. Only 10% off, but honestly it never goes on sale, so this is a big deal! It’s got just enough stretch in it, which gives it a wonderful, feminine fit!. Shop it HERE. Workwear: I have not liked an outfit this much in a long time. I can’t tell if it’s because it felt very different (I don’t typically wear workwear), or because I was wearing my new favorite color—-but whatever it is—-I love this outfit! It’s the perfect mix of femininity and fashion and it’s all tied together in a way that still makes it workwear appropriate. This skirt is so very pretty woman and I’d be lying if I said that wasn’t what initially drew me to it. Polka Dot Midi Skirt (S) | Ivory Blouse (Wearing a Small here, but recommend sizing down) | Belt | Heels | Similar Pearl Strand | Sunnies | Watch As if the polka dot print wasn’t good enough, what really sweetens the deal is that it’s a full elastic waist and is totally pull on. It’s super comfortable and very easy to wear. I paired it with a simple and chic ivory sleeveless v-neck top and a long strand of pearls that I doubled up. I finished it off with a statement belt and a neutral heel. I love this look for a powerful office outfit. Throw on an ivory or navy blazer to take it to the next level, too! Polka Dot Midi Skirt (S) | Ivory Blouse (Wearing a Small here, but recommend sizing down) | Belt | Heels | Similar Pearl Strand | Sunnies | Watch What are your favorite trends for Fall? Regardless if what they are, Nordstrom is always my go-to for trend-right styles every season! Jackie T. says August 26, 2019 at 10:57 AM You know, I have never gravitated towards rust for fall either, always olive, burgundy, gray or black…but it is fresh and something different. I really like how it looks with the turquoise as well, sort of Indian Summer look. 🙂 The skirt reminds me so much of Vivian’s polo match dress in Pretty Woman. Love!
