Casual Weekend Style January 13, 2018 | A post on a Saturday with some cute, casual weekend style….sayyy what??? Landry’s little school is actually part of a larger school here in Charlotte and unfortunantly they had to close the entire place down due to an awful flu outbreak (150+ kids getting sick), so I’ve kept her home almost all week. Needless to say, that made it difficult to get any work done, so I just closed my computer and tried to enjoy some extra time with my big girl. Don’t you feel like January ALWAYS starts out this way?? You come into a new year guns a’ blazin’ and then January itself puts a hold on those plans. Whether it be snow days, ice days, sick days….you name it…January has alllll the days. All of that to say, I’m a little behind on blog content….so thanks so much for sticking with me! I wanted to pop in today to show you a super cute outfit that I photographed in December! I thought that I wasn’t going to get a chance to post it because the top sold out so quickly, but I checked Shopbop one last time yesterday and not only was it back in stock in ALL sizes, but it’s now ON SALE! Cue the happy dance! It really is one of my favorite tops in recent memory, mainly because of the thoughtful details and true functionality…and now it’s under $50! Combo Flounce Sweater | Black Jeans (ON SALE!) | Similar OTK Boots | Sunnies | Tote Bag So it’s basically a 2-1 top, which I know most of you guys can really get behind. This one is great because it will take you throughout the entire year and that’s all kinds of amazing. The sweater on top is cropped with a split back and it’s slightly ribbed at the hem to give it some weight and shape. Underneath, they crafted the perfect ruffled peplum top that fits right under the sweater, showing off the ruffle and creating such a cute silhouette. Without the sweater, the shell is actually a great sleeveless top that can definitely be worn alone and would be so cute with white denim in the Summer. I’m sad that I didn’t photograph just the shell, but it was about 15 degrees when these photos were taken so I can only go so far lol. I’ll show you what it looks like today on stories! This sweater combo was one of the 7 tops that I packed on our two week long Christmas journey, so I wore it quite a few times and really appreciated how it could easily be dressed up or down. I’m also not sure I’ve ever received so many compliments on one top before….when I wore it with the sneakers it was a total hit. Two in One Flounce Sweater Top Left: Distressed Jeans / Sneakers + Similar Sneakers (less expensive) Right: Black Skinny Jeans (ON SALE for Under $50) / Similar Statement Earrings / Booties I also wanted to remember to mention that these black skinnies are ON SALE for under $50 now! I’ve been wearing them since August (remember, they were also part of the Fall Capsule Wardrobe) and I do love them for a casual, great fit! I catch myself snooping Shopbop to see if they’ve gotten any new arrivals. The entire line is made of functional pieces that don’t lack style details and price points that keep your wallet happy!
