Blogger Stylin’ Hometours: Thanksgiving Edition November 4, 2014 | Excited to be sharing a Thanksgiving Tablescape with you guys today as part of the Blogger Stylin’ Home Tours: Thanksgiving edition, hosted by Lindsay over at The White Buffalo Styling Co! If you are here from Primitive and Proper…welcome!!! As you may have gathered from my previous Fall posts (ie my Fall Home Tour)…this year, I’m bucking the rules and going for a glam and cozy Fall feel and ditching the neutrals for warm jewel tones. When I thought about what I wanted our Thanksgiving table to look like…I knew that I wanted to re-purpose these DIY faux pumpkins and use them as the centerpieces, but I also wanted to take it up a notch with some sparkle and gold accents (of course!) to reflect the light. Even though the overall feel of the table was going to be non-traditional, I still used some traditional tableware and other earthy elements (fresh flowers, deer antlers, and miniature pumpkins), to ground it. You will recognize all of the pumpkins from our Fall Home Tour. They transitioned beautifully onto the Thanksgiving table. Remember the head chairs from this Instagram? Well, I managed to cut down the legs myself (high five!), but have yet to find suitable cushions. Made you look. I love the view looking into the dining/formal living room from the kitchen… I actually scored the gold rimmed dinner plates (they came with a 12 pc setting) and these darling salad bowls in Canton, TX…which is one of my favorite places of…ever. The salad bowls definitely show some wear, but I like them for that…they were loved and used…and so often we no longer break out our “good stuff” to entertain with anymore. The napkins were a fun and easy DIY that I will share soon. I loved the bold fuchsia pop for this table, but didn’t want to invest in a full set of monogrammed fuchsia napkins…so I improvised and made these for around $20 total. The gold sequin fabric is from Hancocks and made such a pretty bottom layer. The hold sequins reflect the light perfectly. Still loving my DIY beaded chandy too….best $75 I’ve ever spent! If you remember from the Faux Pumpkin Vase DIY post, you’ll know that I mixed faux and real flowers to achieve a beautiful and colorful arrangement, even when most of the flowers are out of season. I did the same thing here and love the outcome. I also added some feathers for extra height and dimension. One of my favorite Thanksgiving Cocktails is Bubbly Cider: (Make it just as you would a Mimosa, but replace the OJ with cider) Bubbly Cider Ingredients: -Apple Cider -Champangne -Cinnamon // Cinnamon Sticks (I usually sprinkle with a dash of cinnamon) -Fresh apple slices for garnish I loved how everything looked by candlelight and even started to think that this table would also be perfect for a “Friendsgiving” Brunch with a bunch of your girlfriends! Next year, for sure! Sources: Sequin Fabic: Hancocks Polka Dot Runner: Homegoods Faux Pumpkins: Michaels Napkins: World Market Chalkboard Placecards: Michaels …everything else you can assume is vintage or thrifted 🙂 Thank you guys so much for being a part of our Thanksgiving. I will say it multiple times this month, but I am so thankful for YOU and the many friendships (both virtual and real life) that blogging has afforded me! I’m the last stop on the tours today, but make sure to start from the beginning OR pick up where you left off tomorrow morning with Rhoda from Southern Hospitality…she will definitely not disappoint!
