No Fail Swimsuits for Moms May 16, 2018 | Hi Friends! Happiest of Wednesday’s to you! I’m over here counting down the hours until I’m reunited with my college girlfriends for the weekend, so excuse me because I’m overly excited! We are meeting in Houston and have nothing but eating, laying out and maybe even some dancing on our to-do list! Oh and they somehow convinced me to workout while there because they are healthy AF, but we are doing Soul Cycle (which I’ve still never done), so I’m really really excited to try it! Today, I’m putting aside my pride and really putting myself out there in hopes of helping you mamas find a swimsuit that you feel confident in. This no-fail swimsuits for moms post was actually not planned at all. I took inventory of my swimsuits the other day and looked through these and gave myself a major pat on the back for finding FOUR no-fail swimsuits that I was actually excited to wear. I knew that they all fit well, that they were functional for that #momlife around public pools with squirmy babies (you know what I mean), they are all well priced and they actually make me excited for Summer. Clearly I had to share because we all know is a major feat, so I decided to step out of my comfort zone (in a big way) and share a true fit review on the best swimsuits for moms for you so that you can see how they look on and how they might work for you. I would venture to say 90% of moms shudder at the thought of getting into a swimsuit and chasing kids around a crowded pool. You’re bending and snapping (not the good, funny kind) and literally running after babies…throwing caution to the wind and not having time to worry about what’s giggling because your toddler is actually about to cannon ball into the deep end. It’s truly terrifying when I step back and think about it all. Long gone are the days of lounging in a chair with your legs perfectly positioned to make them look exceptionally thin and then slowly (and in the most flattering way possible) slipping in to the pool. LONG GONE. But here’s the reality- I’m going to put my game face on, find the most flattering mom suit that I can and enjoy every last second of Summer around the pool with my babies, because THESE ARE THE DAYS! Here are a few options that really worked for me and I hope will also work for you… I’m 5’9 / 140lbs / normally a size 4-6 4 No-Fail Swimsuits for Moms This suit saved my life last year. I was only 1 month postpartum with Lawson when I found this gem and honestly it gave me my confidence back. It has a very full coverage bottom and a built in shelf bra and that gave some extra support to my nursing boobies. The ruching around the midsection is amazingly flattering and really camouflages that area well. It even allows for a baby bump (probably up to about 25 weeks). I’m wearing a Medium in this one and honestly would recommend it to ANYONE. See also below theres a TALL option if you need more length in the torso. High Neck Swimsuit (4 colors) | High Neck Swimsuit (in TALL) | Denim Shorts (on sale!) | Fedora Hat | Sunnies | Gold Sandals | Custom Clutch | SPF Setting Powder | SPF Setting Spray P.S. / My custom, hand painted clutch is on sale through tonight! A darling graduation gift idea! These denim shorts are also a great alternative to the One Teaspoon brand. They have nearly the exact same shape and are SO cute on, for about 1/3 of the price (under $30 on sale!). I do feel they run small though, so size up TWO sizes here for more of a boyfriend fit as intended. High Neck Swimsuit (4 colors) | High Neck Swimsuit (in TALL) We’ve talked about this suit a lot recently! I finally broke down and bought it and I haven’t regretted it in the least! Of the 4, this suit offers great coverage while still leaving you feeling a little sexy. The lines are uber flattering on the midsection and the back is full coverage with a cute tie detail. Everything is going to stay in place without feeling frumpy. I wear the Medium and love the fit. Crochet Swimsuit (ON SALE!) | Denim Shorts | Gold Sandals | Hat | Earrings The same brand has recently come out with a ton of flattering crochet options as well. If you want some color, definitely consider these: Turn on your JavaScript to view content Crochet Swimsuit | Currently ON SALE in all colors! This suit is probably the best deal of all! It’s around twenty bucks and is SO dang flattering. I ordered it with very low expectations and was blown away by the quality and fit. I don’t feel frumpy in it and actually feel about 10lbs thinner! I’m showing you two ways to wear it below. I have the medium and love the fit. Cross Front Swimsuit | Metallic Wedges | Resin Earrings | $19 Fedora Hat | SPF Setting Powder | Out of Office Tote p.s. These metallic wedges might be one of my most worn pair of shoes thus far this Spring. They are beyond comfortable (like 6+ hours of wear, easily), a great 3” heel height and are so versatile. They also come in quite a few neutral colors. Note these earrings are on sale through today! Here’s how to wear it two different ways! High Neck, cross front (intended way) OR I twist up the straps and make it a plunge neckline. Cross Front Swimsuit This little ruffle suit was a wild card, but I ended up really liking it. The ruffle detail really makes it (especially the back), but of the 4 this is probably the hardest universal fit because it offers little support in the chest. If you’re small chested, a total winner, but over a D cup and I think you’d be unhappy. I’m wearing the M here (am a full C cup) and am happy with the fit. Kerri says May 16, 2018 at 2:09 PM This post caught my eye in a hot second and I raced to open up your blog! I am definitly not feeling all that confident in my skin these days as I have put on a few extra pounds over the past year that I am trying to kick to the curb. But in the meantime, summer is almost here and I want to enjoy it with my kids and not feel uncomfortable when “suiting up”. I ordered the amazon one, cause why not for the price and would love to try on the crochet one at Nordstrom. Thanks for this post and acknowledging how challenging this can be for so many of us! Hugs!
