Best Bottoms for Spring

Back today with another “Fab Finds” post today and, as promised, I’m helping you guys update your closet for Spring with super functional and on trend pieces…all on a budget. Last week we talked about 12 Tops for Spring all Under $50 and today I’m sharing my favorites bottoms to pair with them. What to look for when shopping for shorts, skirts and Spring denim and ideas on how to wear them.

Since this series really is about helping you busy ladies update your closets for Spring and build a few combinations of staple pieces, I’m making it even easier. At the bottom of each description of why I love each of the “bottoms,” I’m also suggesting which tops from 12 Tops for Spring all Under $50 (shoppable board below) would pair back to each bottom, that way you can have an idea of how versatile each piece is! 

Shorts | Definitely still a Spring + Summer staple. Look for high waisted styles, boyfriend fits, and loose linen versions. Frayed hems and distressing are also still on trend options for this coming season.

One | $56

Wear these high waisted stripe shorts with a simple white tank or white button up. They are easily dressed up with a great neutral wedge. Adore the tie front and nautical feel.

Scallop trim is still big this season and I love that it adds a touch of feminine to these shorts. With a 4′ inseam they are appropriate for day or night wear and I can also see them dressed up with a printed tank or worn more casual with a chambray button up.

These are my personal favorite denim shorts. I wore them non-stop last summer + fall and love the fit. At first I thought that they might be a little short, but they fit low on the hips and are relaxed through the thighs and flattering. These are a must have and I cannot wait to break them out again!

These cuffed linen shorts have a 4′ inseam and a relaxed fit making them perfect for casual summer days with a tank and sandals. They come in multiple colors and, for the price, are worth buying multiples of!

Skirts | The skirt is back in a big way! A huge trend for Spring is the return of the skirt in all lengths. Mini skirts are definitely making a come back (especially after their popularity in suede this Fall) and so are classic denim skirts and midi skirts. Working them back into your wardrobe is definitely something that you should try for Spring.

This scalloped mini is a great way to get back into skirts. It’s feminine and so easy to style for day time errands or a weekend brunch.

Denim + Midi = two of the best trends to try this Spring. Loving this button front denim skirt with a stacked heel and a tank.

This white midi skirt is definitely something that I will be adding to my closet this Spring. Not only do I love the price tag, but I love that it’s so feminine and perfect for anything from brunch to baby baby showers.

I really really like this nautical skirt and am wearing it now with a lightweight white sweater and throughout the summer with a white t-shirt or button up.

I paired this skirt with a lightweight white sweater, but also love it with a plain white t-shirt as the weather warms. 

Denim | Flares, white skinnies, and distressed…oh my! Change up your Spring denim lineup with a few different silhouettes and washes.

These light wash flares are casual and cool and pair great with light and flowy summer tops.

These track style cargo pants are perfect for moms on the go. Flattering, comfortable and versatile enough to be dressed up or down.

These are my absolute favorite pair of white jeans year after year. They fit higher on the waist and are a thick denim blend that’s super flattering…definitely worth the investment.
