Give the Gift of Athleisure! November 14, 2017 | Mornin’ friends! I hope that you are having a great week so far. Thrilled that you loved yesterday’s post and can’t wait to share more of the farmhouse and maybe even a few more easy recipes, since those always seem to be a hit! Today we are back in our cozy athleisure duds and I’m making it easy to narrow down what you really want to put on your Christmas list. If you are anything like me, you do your best on busy mornings but I would say 5/10 times (especially in the Winter) I throw on my athleisure clothes, cute sneakers, a top knot and call it a day with my outfit. The good news is that I actually still feel really confident wearing an Athleisure outfit since it’s definitely more stylish and tailored and less like sloppy sweats. To me, that’s the beauty of this trend and why I will be fully embracing it until further notice. I think that cozy athleisure tops are a great thing to add to your Christmas list, especially because you might not always buy them for yourself. They also make great gifts for good girlfriends, sisters, your mom or your mother in law…because every lady can appreciate something cozy to snuggle in to on a cold Winter day. Of course, Nordstrom has an amazing selection of active tops and I’m showing you how a few of my favorites fit, plus a roundup of which ones I feel make the best gifts and investments. 2-1 Wrap Top Cardigan First up is this cute 2 in 1 cardigan + wrap top. I had last year’s version and swore that I wouldn’t buy this updated style. Let’s just say once I tried this one on, I didn’t stand a chance and it flew into my cart. It’s fleece lined (thank me later) and can be worn snapped up as a wrap top or unsnapped as a cardigan. Basically you can wear this two days in a row styled differently and no one would know. We call that a win, my friends. I love it so much that I think I’m going to buy it as a gift for my mama for Christmas. Mom, if you read that, please disregard. I’m wearing a small here and feel it runs TTS, to slightly big. If you are ever on the cusp of sizes, size down here. I swear I haven’t owned a fleece pullover since college and I don’t know why I’ve been holding out for so long. I splurged when I saw that Patagonia came out with this beautiful Rosewater color that goes with nearly every Fall neutral. It’s a beautiful pink/mauve color and it’s so pretty on…not to mention that it feels like you’re cozied up in your softest blanket. I obviously love this color, but there are quite a few others to choose from! I feel that it runs slightly small and I prefer it to fit a bit more oversized so I went with a Medium here. Patagonia Fleece Pullover I like this style because you can easily wear it with jeans and booties or leggings and sneakers. Win Win! Okay, these next two pieces are ones that I’ve talked about (multiple times!) before on the blog. They are some of my tried and true staples and I don’t feel bad mentioning them again because I want you to know how much I truly love and wear them! This is another 2-1 sweater…whohooo for versatility! You can wear it wrapped up like below or unbutton it to wear it as a long drapey cardigan! I’ve bought this for countless people as gifts and they all rave about it as much as I do. My sister is next on this list to receive it as a gift because I know that she’s been eyeing it. This definitely runs big, so make sure to size down. If you want to see how it looks as a cardigan, see THIS POST. Finally, this poncho is something that I would legitimately wear every day if it was acceptable to do so. I have mad love for it and cannot tell you how many people stop me to ask about it. Its so flipping cozy and actually adds some warmth without being something that you have to take off because it makes you too hot. Great to layer over a long sleeve tee and wear with leggings or jeans. I promise you should add this to your list! I’m eyeing the olive color…hint hint Santa baby 😉 Northface Poncho Leggings Here are some other cozy + functional tops that I think are worthy of being added to your Christmas list or even gift ideas for gals on your list! One / Velour Sweatshirt $69 This updated throw back to your favorite Juicy top circa 2002 is much cooler and the silhouette is perfect to throw on and go. Comes in a few colors and as cute as it is cozy Two / Terry Pullover $49 This easy top is great to layer with or just wear around the house. It comes in multiple colors as well but I love this plum shade Three / Textured Sweatshirt $69 I love the shape of this sweatshirt! Not too boxy and great to wear to the gym or just for athleisure! Four / Twisty Reversible Tee $54 I have this top and reach for it constantly. You can wear the twist in the front or the back and it’s a cute way to change things up. It’s an easy top that doesn’t lack style. Can we also talk about this color?! Love! Five / 2-1 Sweater Cardigan $68 I’m 99% sure you guys are sick of hearing me talk about this sweater, but I HAD to include it here because I simply love it that much. Great gift for your mom or MIL and truly a functional piece for a busy mama! Six / Cozy Lounge Pullover $138 Ok, definitely the most expensive item on this list, but definitely one that I feel is worth it! This is a pullover that you will want to throw on 24-7 and can wear year after year. A great item to add to your Christmas list or buy as a gift for mom/MIL! Seven / Wrap Sweatshirt $99 I have last year’s version of this versatile sweatshirt and swore that I wasn’t going to cave and buy this updated style….well yea that didn’t work out well. I scooped this one up and never looked back! I love that it can be worn as a cardigan and as a wrap top. It completely changes the look and that works well for me because I tend to throw on the same pieces on busy mornings! Eight / Funnel Neck Pullover $69 Cozy and warm and a GREAT price. Perfect to wear over your gym tank on cold mornings! Nine / Cozy Fitted Pullover $75 I love that this pullover is streamlined and more fitted so that you can wear it to the gym or easily layer it under a puffer vest or coat! Ten / Running Jacket Another piece that I’ve raved about. Fits like the much more expensive Lululemon version, but about 2/3 the price. A great staple for a busy mama. Eleven / Patagonia Fleece Pullover $119 A recent splurge of mine and I have to say I don’t regret it one single bit. I had been missing a cozy pullover in my closet and pulled the trigger when I saw this beautiful rosy neutral color. It’s SO soft and not too oversized. Great with jeans and booties or leggings and sneakers. Twelve /Poncho Pullover $99 One of the most worn pieces in my entire closet. Seriously. I throw this thing on 24-7. If you watch my instastories you already know how much I wear it lol, But it really is a great top piece to throw on that adds warmth, is super forgiving and is EASY to wear all day long! Also, if you don’t yet have THESE LEGGINGS, go ahead and move them up to the top of your list. They are hands down my favorite and everyone else agrees as they have over 2,800 near 5 star reviews!!!
