Amazon Workout Wear + FASTer Way to Fat Loss FAQ January 13, 2019 | Hey friends! Happy Sunday 🙂 I don’t know what it is, but I’ve LOVED writing posts for Sunday- it feels so much more laid back and easy– I hope that it’s been a good time for you to read them. Today’s post is a GOOD one! It contains all of my Amazon Athletic Wear favorites and I’m diving in to the most frequently asked questions about FASTer Way to Fat Loss! Let’s dive in! Amazon Workout Clothes January is the time to slide back into a workout routine and that’s always a little easier when you update your workout wardrobe. Cute silhouettes, flattering fabrics and a few fun details always put a little pep in my step while working out…not to mention getting them at Amazon prices make it even better! See all of my favorite new (and old but still amazing Amazon finds) here: These are my GO TO Amazon leggings! They were one of the top purchases by you guys last year too and you sent me equally as amazing feedback on them! They are compression, shaping, not see through and come in tons of colors–all for an amazing price! I’ll talk about these sports bras later, but trust me and add to cart now! Sports Bra (M/34/C) | Leggings (S) My #1 recommendation for a workout top is the one below. I own it in several colors and really really love the fit, feel and functionality. It has the look of Lululemon but the price of Amazon and I’m here for it all day long! The built in sports bra is actually quite supportive, with super cute straps. Comes in a ton of colors, too! Athletic Top (S) | Leggings (S) I’ve owned this top for a while now and love it to throw over my tanks if I am going to run an errand before or after workout! It’s such a great throw on and go top for days when you have somewhere to go after the gym. Mesh Tee (S) | Leggings (S) This knot back tank was a surprise! I loved the flattering fit and the cute knot back. It was such a cute top to pair back to high waisted leggings. These camo leggings were also a huge surprise–I normally don’t like printed leggings but these were a win! Flattering lines, amazing fabric and overall amazing fit–all at a wonderful price. Knot Back Tank (S) | Camo Leggings (S) I’m loving the look of high waisted leggings with a loose fitting crop for working out these days. This crop is amazing quality (I love THIS BRAND on Amazon) Crop Tank (S) | Camo Leggings (S) This black T Strap top is another top to throw on over a workout tank. It’s conservative in the front, then has a fun back detail to keep it interesting. Black Long Sleeve Top (S) | Crop Tank (S) | Camo Leggings (S) I ordered these sports bras because they had amazing reviews, but truthfully I didn’t have high hopes. They come in a pack of FOUR for under $30, so I didn’t think that the quality would be there. WRONG. They are awesome quality and fit and the price cannot be beat! These leggings were also a great suggestion by a friend! I got them in and honestly they looked like leggings for Landry. I persisted and tried them on and actually was floored by the fit. They are a TRUE shaping and compression legging, really targeting the tummy area. They give you a great shape and are under $20! Sports Bra (M) | Tummy Shaping Leggings (S) These basic tanks come in a 3 pack and are AWESOME if you just want something easy, functional and not too fussy. They have a great shape, the fabric wicks sweat wonderfully and they are an awesome price ($20 for 3 tanks)! Athletic Tank (S) | Leggings (S) This tank is a little more daring, but I’ve really enjoyed wearing it! It comes in a two pack and does a cute open + knot back. The price is awesome for a cute (more fashion feeling) option. I wear mine tied tighter to give my waist shape and close up the back a little more. Knot Back Tank (S) | Leggings (S) I’ve briefly talked about this sweatshirt before, but thought that it was worth covering again, because it’s obvious how much I wear it! It’s pretty simple, but it’s soft and I love the cut out on each side to make it lay well while wearing it. Sweatshirt (S) | Leggings (S) Other Amazon Workout Pieces That I Own and Love: These leggings are also amazing! They come in a ton of colors and get amazing reviews! These 2 pack basic tanks are also awesome for everyday workouts. Under $20. These are also amazing basic tanks…they work great for gym. They are more of a tunic length, which comes in handyUnder $20. FASTer Way to Fat Loss FAQ: Tess and I have seen amazing success with our FASTer Way to Fat Loss partnership so far! There are 130 girls in our current group and they committed, active and ready to make a change for themselves! Tess is a rockstar coach and has been steadily answering questions, engaging in the group and even hopping on 1/1 calls to foster success! Since we had to limit registration and have had lots of ladies waiting to hop on, we’ve decided to open another round on JANUARY 21 and the registration is still open! SIGN UP HERE. If you want to know more about my WHY and how I got started with the program, read THIS POST. There was an amazing response yesterday, but also quite a few questions. Here were the most frequently asked as well as our answers: Q: How do I learn to count macros? A: That term seems daunting, right? It’s short for macronutrients (which are the three main components of the food we eat: FAT, PROTEIN, and CARBOHYDRATES). This program educates you on macronutrients, how to use that knowledge to rebalance your diet and how to track them. Macronutrients are tracked via My Fitness Pal and it really does all of the hard work for you and is a great resource to reference when wondering what the macronutrient makeup of each food is. It’s intimidating at first, but I promise it’s fun to learn and knowledge is power. Q: Are all the rules broken down and easy to follow? I’m interested but a little nervous to tackle it. A: Yes, you are provided with all of the tools that you need to succeed. There’s an entire week dedicated to training and learning the program. Tess is also there for you, 100%. It WILL take some commitment from you though, carving out time to understand the program, meal prepping to set yourself up for the week, and keeping up with My Fitness Pal weekly. It IS possible though, for sure! Q: How do you figure out how many calories you get on a regular day? A: This is determined based on your goals stated in My Fitness Pal. Tess can also help you determine goals based on what you want to achieve. Q: Are there any exceptions with the Fasting part? How strict are you with that? A: I fast every day. I mean, of course there are exceptions, but if I stick to ANYthing during the day I at least try to hold my fast. I find if I end up eating breakfast I find that the next day’s fast ends up being harder, so it’s really not worth it. The consistent feedback in our group is that the FASTing part has been WAYYYY easier than expected. Q: Even when you’re not doing the 6 week program, have you given up breakfast? A: Yes, I cannot see myself going back to breakfast. Q: In my late 50’s–is this program doable for older women? A: YES! Women in their 50’s and women going through menopause have seen amazing results with FASTer Way! They’ve seen a positive rebalance in their hormones and an increase in energy. Q: What items would need to be purchased to do the workouts at home? A: Here are the things that I bought on Amazon: these workout bands, these kettle bells, these free weights Q: Can vegetarians do this? A: YES! We have quite a few vegetarians in our group! You can eat everything that you normally do, but we will just rebalance how and when you eat them. You’ll likely have to bump up your proteins and can do that through fish, eggs, beans, cottage cheese, etc. Q: Is it super hard to from poor eating to so many restrictions? A: Yes. I won’t sugar coat it for you, because I simply don’t have a magic formula. Eating healthy foods is the ONLY way to achieve a long term, healthy lifestyle. If this is your goal, I would encourage you to dive right in with a mindset of “progress over perfection.” Commit to at least two rounds (which is what I’m doing) and learn slowly but surely how to make this a lifestyle. You don’t have to completely give up food you love, but you will learn how to incorporate them in where they fit. Read about my FASTer Way to Fat Loss journey HERE | Dive into my Whole30 Essentials HERE (a great healthy eating resource) Q: Can you do your own workouts and just do the nutrition piece or is it imperative to do theirs? A: We always suggest starting by doing the FASTer Way to Fat Loss workouts for at least your first round, although it’s not required. Their workouts are completely tailored to your macro breakdown for that day and targets specific parts of the body on specific days based on macro intake. If you are committed to another plan, consult Tess and she will give you suggested days to still partake. Q: Can I do this while pregnant? A: The FASTer Way to Fat Loss® is easily adapted for those that are pregnant or nursing. Pregnant Clients:The food cycle is altered for pregnant clients by not participating in low macro days, we modify low carb days by increasing your net carbs for those days. Most women have no problem with the intermittent fasting but it is extremely important for you to get your calories in each day so lengthening your eating window is also an option! General rule of thumb for exercise during pregnancy is not to start anything completely new but if you have been exercising prior to pregnancy, it is fine! The further along you are, you can do modified versions of all strength training workouts. **Always consult your doctor!** Q: Can I do this while Nursing? A: There are a few modifications to the food cycle for ladies who are postpartum (no low macro days) but overall the program is completely doable! Those with an established milk supply can safely participate in low macro days, and we also bump up carbs on low carb day a bit. The most important thing is to monitor your supply! Q: Can someone with Type 1 Diabetes participate? A: People who are pre-diabetic can usually do the program and see great results, but you should BE SURE to consult your doctor for approval and modifications that your doctor recommends before you begin. Q: Do you guys provide meal plans? A: FASTer Way to Fat Loss® does not provide you with specific meal plans to follow HOWEVER, we give you guides for recommended foods, sample meal plans for the different days in the carb cycle, and Tess does provide you with her favorite recipes and grocery hauls as often as she can (as an added bonus!). In our group, we also encourage our clients to share their favorite recipes and snack ideas if they wish and keep everything in an easily accessible photo album! Q: Seriously, no alcohol? A: I think that it’s important to REALLY limit alcohol intake during the program, but that’s not to say that you can’t indulge in a cocktail or glass of wine here or there. If you’re going out to dinner, try to pre-plan a glass or two of wine in MFP and see how it shakes out in your total. This is more of a lifestyle goal, so you’ll learn how you can start working in a few drinks here and there, while still reaching your overall goals. Q: How do you “shut down” wanting to eat early in the morning and still function? A: It’s a mind over matter thing. Truly, you have to focus on water intake, treat yourself to a cup of coffee, and then get busy. You’ll be more productive, have a clearer mind and your body will be able to fully recover from digestion from the day before and dig into your fat supplies for fuel. Q: I don’t have Facebook, can I still join? A: Sure! Tess emails out information daily to you, so you can participate that way. I DO feel like being in the Facebook group fosters accountability, success and a feeling of friends doing it together- so my suggestion is to create a dummy private account and participate that way. Q: How much will my grocery bill go up? A: Long term I think you’ll save money. There will likely be one large grocery trip in the beginning, but after that it’s back to normal. I always end up saving money because I’m eating out SO much less on the program. Q: Did you initially feel like you were gaining weight from more food and less cardio? A: Never. I think that’s were intermittent fasting comes in because it eliminates bloat and helps to work through fat supplies. I’ve never felt like I was bloated or gaining weight once….and that’s coming from a cardio JUNKIE! Q: I would love to try FWTFL, but am scared to give up dairy. A: I alwaysssss suggest going at least 4 weeks no dairy (that’s a personal suggestion). It’s incredible to see the changes, and I promise it’s possible! It affects bloat, your skin, your mood—dairy is THE WORST. I’ve been limiting dairy intake for 5 years now and will never go back. I eat it probably 3-4 x a week in moderation each time and now know my limits with it, but I promise going dairy free is super freeing. If you ABSOLUTELY need to squeeze in dairy on the program, simply work it in where it fits in your macros—but eating in excess won’t yield the results you want! Q: Will you do other rounds? A: YES! Most questions started by telling me how they were interested they were in FASTer Way to Fat Loss and shortly followed by lots of reasons why they were so busy and it seemed hard. I get it. I work full time and have two kids. Tess works full time and has FOUR kids. We all have obligations and activities and full calendars. We all have “no time” and I want to tell you that this is still possible, but it starts with YOU. I don’t have a magic potion or an EASY program, but I DO have a program that you can make into a lifestyle and one that WORKS. It will 100% take commitment from you to learn and implement. It has got to start somewhere and that just the facts. I have no other reason to talk about this on my blog other than I truly think it can change so many lives and give women confidence back–and that’s what I built this blog on. I shared this on stories yesterday and I share this with caution. Here are my before and afters. Before was taken 11/12/18, after was taken 1/11/19. Right at two months, during TWO major Holidays, during my BUSIEST work season, WITH two kids in tow and taking care of everything for Christmas, and TRAVELING 8 of those days. It IS possible and YOU can do it too! SIGN UP FOR OUR 1/21 ROUND HERE!
Jaime DeArman says January 13, 2019 at 3:51 PM This is an awesome post! Love the athletic wear & appreciate your time and honesty about the program. It’s incredibly hard to change what you put in your body & I’ve never been successful in eating clean. I should count my blessings that I’m only 20lbs over my weight goal. LOL! While you were already in a good place with you figure, your body definitely responded to fueling it when it needed fuel obviously allowing your workouts to be much more effective. It makes sense.
Leah Knight says January 13, 2019 at 4:26 PM I feel like I am in the place where your before pictures were taken. Although I have seen results that I am happy with, I feel like my results could be better if I was eating differently. I’m interested in learning if I could just follow the diet portion because I love my workout and do it 6 days a week – it is my “me” time!!! I’m not sure where I should post this question or how to ask! Sorry! Thank you!
Style Your Senses says January 17, 2019 at 12:26 PM Hey! I totally understand the need for “me” time–but working out 6 days a week is a LOT (coming from someone who used to do that exact thing). I would suggest following the FWTFL workouts your first round as they are tailored to your carb cycle. If you choose to continue with your workouts, I would absolutely scale back and get with Tess on where your workouts would fit within the carb cycle. Also be sure to schedule YOU time outside of working out—it’s been something I’m diligent about now.
Jennifer James says January 14, 2019 at 11:23 AM Thinking about joining the next FWTFL group, but have a question re: workouts. Can I do this program and continue my regular cross fit workouts? I love my HIIT workouts!
Style Your Senses says January 17, 2019 at 12:24 PM I personally suggest following along with the FWTFL workouts your first round, because they are tailored exactly to your carb cycle. If you want want to move forward with cross fit, get with Tess and she can give you suggested days in which the cross fit workout would work with the carb cycle 🙂
Tina says January 15, 2019 at 10:22 AM Hi Mallory! Your experience with going to OTF 4-5X a week with little results really resonated with me. I was going to OTF all the time for 3-4 months, under eating and over exercising while not seeing the physical payoff I was hoping for. I’m excited (and a little nervous) to try FWTFL and I’m signed up for the 1/21 round. I used the link you provided but how do I get added to your facebook group?
Style Your Senses says January 17, 2019 at 12:21 PM HI! I’m sorry I’m so behind on these replies. Hopefully you’ve received communication from Tess. If not, email me. Excited to have you!
Monica, says February 5, 2019 at 8:02 PM Would Tess consider another round Coming up in February or march? Very interested
