A Christmas Pajama Party! December 1, 2016 | Today I have a Christmas pajama party post for you guys that I probably couldn’t love anymore than I do! If you’ve been following along, you might have guessed that my mom was here visiting last week (she lives in Louisiana, where I’m from). It’s always so, so nice to have her in town and each time she’s been here this year I’ve tried to schedule a blog post that she could be a part of. Remember Mother’s Day Part I + Part II? She’s always such a trooper and I value the photos more than anyone knows. This time I decided to make it a real doozy and include Landry too and let us have some real fun. We throughly enjoyed laughing at ourselves through the entire thing, Landry thought that a real pillow fight was the absolute coolest thing in the world, I am still cleaning up down feathers (I walked around with one in my hair most of the day yesterday), and I might have cried when I got these photos back (#hormonalmess)…crazy to look at 3 generations of girls who rarely get to be in the same place. If you don’t have some silly photos (or any kind really) that capture not only your parents with your kids, but your parents with YOU and your kids, splurge and get some done. I think that both Landry and I will treasure these. Okay, back to the PJ Party! Pajamas are such a staple around Christmas, right? You put them on after Thanksgiving lunch and really don’t take them off until you are getting ready for New Years Eve. Maybe that’s extreme, but I do feel like there’s lots of lounge time on the couch snuggling and watching movies this time of year and cute pj’s are always fun to have. My mom and I got matching flannel jams (you guys have got to see all of the prints that they come in!) and Landry got the cutest 2pc set for girls that’s not overly Holiday specific. If you can’t tell, we had lots of fun… Also, if you’re looking for cozy loungewear gift items, I’ve rounded up all of my top picks below. Make sure to read through for specifics… My Mom’s Pajamas | Landry’s Pajamas | My Pajamas This one is definitely going in a frame in my office! Can you even with Landry’s curls?? She kept telling us both: “Now make sure to point your feet. Look, do like mine.” We were all dying laughing. Speaking of feet, these socks are called “butter socks” and that’s quite literally what they feel like. Even my mom (who doesn’t really like anything on her feet in the house) was impressed and wore them around all day. Although they don’t have grips on the bottom, they are a great alternative to a slipper and truly aren’t super hot. They feel very breathable and make amazing stocking stuffers. Best part? They are 3 for $18 so you can stock up! Turn on your JavaScript to view content Novelty mugs are always a super gift gift or stocking stuffer. I love filling them with gift cards to Starbucks or fun little trinkets! When I start my day off with good coffee in a fun mug, it always just seems better…hehe! Shop all giftable mugs HERE. What are some of you favorite Christmas books to read?? We have a few good ones, but I’d love some more ideas…it’s all she wants to do! My sweet girl is getting SO big! Can you guys get over she’s wearing a 6 in these jammies? How can I pause time right now? Even though she asks me why my forehead “has stripes” (aka wrinkles) and confirms each day that my belly is “much bigger than yesterday”…I still absolutely want to freeze her right at this age. Three years and ten months, you are pure magic… Sizing on Landry’s jammies: She’s right between an XS and S in girls right now, so I went with a S in these to accommodate any shrinking and/or growing. Thankfully, we’ve washed these twice and they really do hold their shape! #praise! They are SO cozy and such a soft cotton, making them well worth the splurge or as a Christmas gift. The current prints are HERE (these might be my favorites!) and the full Tucker + Tate selection is HERE. Our puppy Chloe is so sweet (sometimes) and really really wanted to be a part of the PJ party. She tried her very best to insert herself wherever possible and put on her best camera-ready face. Note her throughout the photos…haha! I had the not so bright idea of really opening a down pillow that I had lying around…uummm…do you guys have ANY idea how many feathers are in there??? We certainly didn’t! After only a few minutes there were so many floating around that I was (quite literally) breathing them up my nose. LOL. We we laughing until we cried and *one* of us might have even fallen off the bed in the process. Sizing on our pajamas: My mom and I both normally wear Mediums but have always preferred to size up in pajamas, so we opted for the Large in these. I like my jammies overly loose and not fitted at all (my poor husband!), but I think that these run big and the large is probably a little *too* big even for my preferences. My mom agreed. So definitely get your normal size or size down if you are on the fence or prefer a slimmer fit. Shop all 20 (yes, TWENTY) prints in our jammies HERE. Also, if you are wondering about the flannel…I would say that these are mid-weight flannel. I am cold natured, so I could probably wear them year around, but my mom (who also lives in Louisiana which is much warmer), might opt for THESE in the Fall + Spring months. This one thought that it was the best day of her life! Thank you so much for indulging me in this fun and silly post. No, we aren’t staging pillow fights and pajama parties around here everyday, but this sure was a treat and these photos will be in my treasure box forever… Photos by Laura Sumrak Turn on your JavaScript to view content Here are some fun gift ideas that are great for the gal on your list who likes to lounge. The one who comes home and immediately changes into comfy clothes (that would be me) or loves a good movie night at home. My favorites include: the sleep mask ($25), the pillow ($49), the red plaid slippers ($29) and the pajamas at bottom right (please note that they say “Naughty or Nice…I have outfits for both.” I about died laughing when I read them)!
